Im sure most of you know about the Wanderers movie. If you don't then heres a clip 8) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBt4zShuYKk  Its a sorta simular film to The Warriors. I like to think of it as the prequel to the Warriors. Anyways some questions for other Wanderers fans. Who is your favorite character,gang,scene,fight,and quote from the film??

My favorite characters are Emilo the father, Chubby Galasso,Terror and the Ducky boys Warlord
My favorite gang is the Wongs
My favorite scene is the classroom when the trouble begins
My favorite fight is Meat Vs The Baldies
The best Quote is Don't _ _ _ _ with the Wongs        

I want to be honest, it's a "Passable" Movie... but I'm not just a Wanderers Fan.
But this intrigue me: "I like to think of it as the prequel to the Warriors"... I mean, tell me more. 8)

I love the Wanderers, it's one of my favorite movies, it's amazing. My favorite characters are Richie, Perry, the Ducky Boy lieutenant (the Punks leader from the Warriors), and the short Wong.

My favorite gang is the Ducky Boys, favorite scene is the classroom and the big rumble at the end.

Favorite fight is probably Perry fighting the Baldies alone, but it's probably the rumble at the end.

And for me there's too many quotes to pick a favorite.

PAPPAAAaahPA PASSABLE???? Watch the the movie again THE SWAN. I Like it becuase its based on real life gangs from that era.  I like the no guns fight scenes, The charactors,story,acting,film locations are all belivable. Its about being in a gang to protect your family,nieghborhood,brotherhood,women,and race. Plus I really dig the music from that era.  If I were growing up in that time and place I would most likely been part of gang.

As for the prequel idea the 50s didn't end in 1959 they ended in 1963 when JFK was shot. The greaser gang music, and lifesytle where replaced by hippies,Vietnam, narcotics, The Beatles etc. A new era began and the gangs became more crime based. The new era in the Warriors is when Luther shoots Cyrus and the (gun with no reason gang) era begins.  The drive by thrill kill gangs, which is what we have today.

Good choices Cowboy.   I have a 35mm theater print of the Wanderers that I watch every few years

Hey no sweat kowolski... I mean, I understand you just love this Movie!!! I liked: PAPPAAAaahPA PASSABLE????   Yeah, you just love that Movie...
Anyway, I know it very well, no need to see it again... but it didn't give me what The Warriors DID!!!
That's all!!!

About the 50's... in 1963... etc... who said this isn't true... and about the "Prequel Idea" based on Old/New Era-New Gang Life etc..., once again, I like it!!!

I dont want to compare the movie against The Warriors. I only metioned it as the prequel as it deals with the gang era before The Warriors in the same NY area.

I know why you started this Topic ... and I don't think you want to compare... Off topic ??? ... etc... and you know what The Wanderers "gives/Doesn't give" me. I DON'T SEE Any Problem here... anyway...

What did the Duckys have against the Wanderers or other gangs? What was the reason for the big fight on the football field?

Was it becuase the Duckys wanted to establish themsevles as the #1 gang?

Was it because the football game was being held on there turf??

Or other reasons? Any thoughts.

The wanderers strayed into duckyboys turf and started a fight when one of the duckys vandalised the car.  The pitch invasion was retaliation for that.

The wanderers is a pretty good movie but it is not the best movie i have ever seen but there are some good fight scenes.

I actually really enjoyed the wanderers. Though very different from the warriors, and almost impossible to compare (due to an entirely different concept = A gang from decades ago, however still in school and the main focus is on the characters emotions about friends, etc.) , I can see why warriors fans would see to seeing another gang movie of its age, and I totally agree.

P.S. (The Ducky Boys are awesome!!)

I haven't seen the wanderers but i am thinking of hiring it but want to how good of a movie it acctually is....(if that made sence)
So would somebody be able to rate it out of 10 for me???
(sounds sort of weird but i dont want to waste money on something i will dislike, and i probally have the same likes in movies as most people on the forum)

Hey Gezza, this is what I can tell you about this Movie. To me it's Passable... but don't misunderstand me, I mean, do you want to see it? Yeah, do it. It's anyway worth it!!!
