Re: What kind of things that are gone now do you miss?
I miss the days when you could cruise around all night long and burn a whole tank of gas and you didn't even care. I had a 1968 Camaro with a 327 V8 when I was in high school in the late 70's --- I actually drove that car into the drive in theater to see the double feature of The Warriors and Animal House..! Back then, I was paying about 60 cents a gallon for gas, no smog checks, insurance was like $50 a month, and vehicle registration was like $15 a year. I lived in Monterey County, California and my friends and I would think nothing of jumping in my car and choosing whether to take a all night drive to LA or SF just for the heck of it,,, sleep in the car or on the beach, etc. Those were the days.............

Seeing your post made me think back to when I played my Sega Genesis profusely, ahhh Streets of Rage, Desert Strike, the old Robocop games were pretty violent too, or the Splatterhouse games. Theres one game I used to have that I can't find anywhere it had a knight who went down into a crypt and he fought monsters and demons while solving puzzles to get farther into the crypt to find a cure for a sickness that was taking over the village, it was a lot of fun but the puzzles were complicated because there were little or no clues but I can't seem to remember the title anyone recognize this description? Seriously though thanks for the trip down memory lane again.Frank_Castle wrote: I miss ICP when they actually made good music......

I miss the old days back when I was between the ages of 14 - 17 when I didn't have so much pressure to do well all the time! I just went to high school and did my classes and I was happily an average student that was good enough to get into University.
Now that I got an amazing placement I'm expected to do fantastic at everything and get top marks all the time and pass first time around! Stupid Honours Year!!

Re: What kind of things that are gone now do you miss?
I was born in 1970, so I think I have a few things that haven't been posted.
The Bozo Show from Chicago. I got to go see it live once. My parents were on the waiting list before I was born.
Like Cola. I think this may have just been a test run in Chicago. I think Pepsi made it. It was a lemon lime cola.
The horrible fashion of the 80's. I remember when people thought Chess King was the Alpha and Omega of stores.
Harry Carey and Jimmy Piersall calling White Sox games. I swear they were drunk most of the time.
Chicago Stadium.
The Ramones.
And a couple of good friends who died way too young.

Vanilla Ice.... don't laugh we all thought he was the shizz, being ten and watching all the Evil Dead films all night with my friends, George Romero making good films, hair metal (i always thought it ruled), grunge and all the classic 90's rap.

Re: What kind of things that are gone now do you miss?
lots of things, pretty much everything from the 70's through the 90's although i havent leved through the 70's or the 80's for that matter.
music was awesome
movies were good
the roller skating rink was always packed and fun
there wasnt as much violence in life
teens werent as cruel
rap music was actually good imo
and one thing that annoys me now is that people do not have enough respect to stay away from the N word, since I am african american I am greatly offended at things like that.
thats about all the specifics. but i do miss the good old sega genesis snes and nes

In depth storyline RPGs that fleshed out the characters and made the game a lot more enjoyable, like Final Fantasy 7, Chrono Cross, the Wild ARMs series, Thousand Arms, and Xenogears. I really enjoyed these games, because of how they captivated my imagination and made me feel like I had known the characters forever
