AJAX Halloween costume?

Post by hoboford »

Hello everybody. I very much want to create an Ajax Halloween costume but I'm lost on a few details and in need of a few items. I was wondering if anybody could help me out on this.

First off; does Ajax wear dark brown or black pants (jeans?)

Does anybody know where I can get a similar belt buckle?

Does anybody have any recommendations on where to get/create a warriors vest? a-1 American flags is far too pricey for me and I can't seem to find the right kind of vest anywhere?

Any help would be wonderful!

Hey there Hoboford...

First off I would suggest not to empty out your bank account or spend all your savings on trying to buy items for your Ajax look-a-like costume...use what you can find...for example if you can't find the exact belt just use something similar to it...I think his pants are dark brown jeans or they could be regular pants...but they look more like a dark colored jeans to me...anywho use similar items to make your costume...the "hand gloves" or whatever they're called can probably be sold in a store called "Hot Topic"...Of course he looks like he has a black sleeveless shirt so that shouldn't be hard to find...and you can use a fake piercing to give you that Ajax charm...

you may need to spend on the vest if its economical for you...vests are sold on http://www.mondotees.com...unless they sell it cheaper somewheres else...its not the same color vest but its still good...I believe there was someone on this site who was selling vests that he made on his own that looked exactly the same as in the movie...look for it under vests/patches/outfits or The Warriors Bazaar section...

I hope this helped you somehow...good luck on your endeavor :D  8)

Thanks. Yeah, I guess Mondotees doesn't sell them anymore, unless I'm just completely incompetent and cant find it on their site. I've got pretty much everything else; but it doesn't add up to much without a vest. I'd make my own vest and order the patches from a-1 american flags, but I don't know how I'd get the diamond piping to make it authentic. Hmm...

Double check on the pants...but your not going to lose the feel of being Ajax if you were dark brown or black pants...

About the diamonds...you can take a piece of fabric...and use a light brown marker that can be used on fabric to draw the diamonds yourself...i think you can use any tough marker...anywho sew it on the vest or staple or glue...as long as you get it on there...you can line it from front to back of the vest...thats all I can suggest right now...keep looking...there are usually some people who sell their vests on Ebay...I'm surprised that mondotees.com doesn't sell the vest anymore...boo!!!!  :|

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll end up gluing the the diamond piping on and drawing it like you said. And for the back of the vest I'm actually going to just paint it on, which should be a good disaster in waiting. If it's not too much of an eyesore, I'll post pictures of it up here.

Hey everybody. The costume turned out really good, ended up using textile paint, made stencils, and then finished details with a brush. And a friend of mine came to a  party with me dressed as a Highhat, so we took pictures that I should have uploaded soon.

In non-warriors related news, if anybody wants to check out this commercial I just shot, it's below.
