IS  THE FILM BASED ON ANY TRUE HAPPENINGS???? AND WHY ARE THEY BASED IN CONEY ISLAND AND NOWHERE ELSE IN AMERICA???

there probably was some gang activity back then in New York, but I doubt there was a meeting of the proportions showed in the movie. but since I don't live in New York or anywhere in America I'll just have to leave it to the pople that do... they surly must know a lot more than I do.

not like that!  :doubt:It calmed down a bit in the past few years. I hope you didn't misunderstand me... I do not approve stuff that these kids used to do like:creating their own gangs, mugging and beating up pedestrians, braking windows... oops I almost forgot the attempted graffiti- kids bombing the walls and trains... typical juvenile delinquents. 
But there are a lot of people who respect and love The Warriors, and they will always carry them in their hearts like true fans!
