ding ding sing we have a winner...hollywood have gone down in ideas for films latley and maybe tony scott realised that so he looked for an interesting old film and tried to remake it

The HollyWeird idiots are desperte for money, and this generation is the dumbest there has ever been, so they can't even write their own story lines.

Also, if you want to be technical, its to show how basically times have changed. What is the reason why gangs start now a days, and do they follow a different set of up bringings then in the past? Certain issues of today, may be different from years ago, thus making political, relgious, ethnic,and philosophical reasons for starting gangs on a whole new level. So who knows. And I guess if no one likes the movie, its not like its a sequal that distorts the classic original. You could just merely ignore it.

they want to try and make it better (not possible) and bring it to a new generation i was born in 89, 10 years after the movie was released and i still love it

I think the main idea is to make the movie more realistic, but then again...why would you? It's a great movie now...the remake would suck anyway...

Well, the main reason, like it is for any commercial movie, is money ...
But, that was the main reason fort the original one too. The point is to make something good beside making money.
It is rather clear that the old fans of The Warriors will be very critical with the eventual remake.
We only have to wait and see ...
