Do you think she would have still arrested Ajax if he was more....gentle? I was thinking about this. Did she actually want him or did she just want to arrest him? But then again, what could she have arrested him for? Maybe because all the cops wanted to bust all the gang in New York... I don't know, give your thoughts.

She might of found him attractive. However, she was a cop first and foremost, she was just there for the bust. Plus, the other cops were close enough to hear her whistle and probably had binoculars watching her. I don't think they would have taken to kindly with her having her own fun, especially if there was a staff sergeant there.

gotta agree with warrior71 here... there were cops close by so she would've arrested him anyway. i think the fact that he was so rough made her want to lock him up that much worse... chances are she was one of those crazy feminist cops from back in the day and wanted every guy who treated a chick like a piece of meat to get it... guys, you could learn a lesson from that - first of all, don't pick up random chick sin the park (or anywhere for that matter).. second, don't be so rough.. that way you're sure to not get arrested! you never know who's a covert fuzz!!!

you got a point real-tough-chick. In fact, during the 70's, a woman was raped in the street, and I guess this was Walter Hills response to this tragic event. You see the woman screamed and know one came out of their houses to help, and cops did not patrol the streets like they do today. In fact I think they even made a movie out of it. So maybe Walter Hill did it to give women some hope. I mean I like Ajax, but lets say he got away with the rap, would we like him then?

I think it would depend on what we saw. Hill probably wouldn't have shown an assault too graphic, so we wouldn't really get the full feel of the scene to make a judgment on Ajax to the point where we would think any less o fhim. Also, I think people (the guys at least) would have taken the scene as a triumphant conquer and probably would have liked him even more. Afterall, we already knew he was not a nice guy. Again, because of the proximity of the rest of those cops it wouldn't have gotten very far anyway.

I think she wanted him but she still knew she had a job to do and that was to arrest gang members.

yeah still if he was being gentle she would still arrest her, because every cop in NY is busting every gangster in the city!

i agree with krossthug the cop might of liked ajax but maybe if she was off duty it might of been a difrent story but as kross said they were looking to bust any gangs wearing colours

I think it was just her job to catch guys out before they assault women, she'd probably be there
every friday night or something and Ajax was there wrong place wrong time. I imagine she would sit with guys but if they went too far or ignored her saying no then she'd do an Ajax on them and the cops got there fast since they were on alert for gang colours anyway.
I dont think she liked him, i think sitting there was part of her regular beat.

yea she was just doing her job no matter what she would of arrested him plus the cops probly heard that the rumour that the warriors did it so she would of got him cuz he was a prime suspect

Maybe I'm going out on a limb here, but I don't think she planned on arresting Ajax until he got rough. Despite the title of "policewoman" in the credits, I never really believed she was a police officer. Many women who are outside late nights carry whistles, and maybe they don't carry handcuffs, but it wouldn't be unheard of. When she said, "You're under arrest."I always took it as maybe a citizen's arrest, like she was detaining him until the police arrived.

I disagree with this quote. If you pay attention, the cops actually took quite a while to get to the scene. If Ajax wasn't cuffed, he would've had plenty of time to get away.

True indeed, but if that was the case why wouldn't she alert the other cops when Swan, Snow & Cowboy walked by. What cop do you know that would bust 1 gangbanger instead of 4?
