I really hope they find a way to pull this movie off-- especially without angering the sea of fans who love the 1979 version. It would be an interesting concept to show the members joining, seeing as how it's rumored that the original characters won't be in it, save for Cyrus. I don't know.
It'd better be good. REAL GOOD. I think we all feel that way about it!

Re: in the warriors movie in 2008 should they show how each member become a memb
guys, i'd hate to be the bearer of bad news...
i'm not big on remakes because they usually butcher up the story. i read the warriors movie remake somewhere online.
i am curious but ready for disappointment. i read that the movie will have no relation to the original except the title, the name cyrus, and the gang theme. i read it was going to take place in L.A...??? Coney/NYC is the trademark of the warriors..it allready sounds stupid ie;
no ajax, no swan, no cowboy, no snow, none of the original warriors, or gangs or crazy make up.
...and it was said on the movie thing that there was not much in common with the original..
.? why call it "warriors??"
however, i did read that the people making the movie had something to do with resivior dogs(?was it), and the sopranos..that's the only thing that gives me some peace of mind.
i'm not saying it won't be good, but i was disappointed to find out some things about the new version-but i do hope they can pull off something..

Well being that it is a remake, we really do not know how the warriors will be projected in this film, so we can't see it from the classic 1979 point of view. We just have to simply wait and see, since it will be a totally different aspect, and element to this film.

I agree with you, adam88. You made a good point. The original movie already set its own standards. At this point, it's only best to go into the theatres with no expectations, per se, and enjoy the film for what it will be.
I still can't help but to keep my fingers crossed...

If it's more about guns than hand to hand - i already am dissapointed. However the original had some really stupid bits such as all the baseball bat dodging (if you don't think this is stupid, try dodging one in a fight!). I will not stand for lots of Los Angelous people running round going "BLUUT! BLUUT!" and doing drive-bys. The original is my favourite of all time film, if the remake is half as good i will be happy, but i'm thinking negative, i beleive it will be very bad.

That'd be pretty awesome, but I heard that "it's not going to be a remake" but then again I've heard lot's of stuff. You never know, I like the idea a lot.

Some things are better off left alone and i think this is one of them.Assault on precient 13 comes to mind-the oringinal was a cool movie-a little eerie,a little disturbing-someting that is very hard to recreate and recapture so they change the setting change the names and butcher the story so they can borrow the title and dont do the original any of the justice they deserve.I say if they want to make this movie go ahead,if they say want to say if you liked The Warriors youll dig movie xyz.But please dont ruin our good name

Re: in the warriors movie in 2008 should they show how each member become a memb
According to the game this is how everyone joined/formed the warriors
Cleon: Used to be a Destroyer (a gang only in the game that shares Coney Island with the Warriors) but the leader (Virgil) didnt respect him and sent him on a drug deal with the satans mothers with fake drugs, they then escaped and told Virgil 'You've just started a war!'
Vermin: Also was a destroyer and followed Cleon so was part of the fake drug deal and followed Cleon into the making of the Warriors
Swan: Swan and Cowboy took part in a King of the Hill contest against Cleon + Vermin, The moonrunners and the Panzers (i think) after he and Cowboy won it Cleon was impressed and asked them to join the Warriors. They then had to go around Coney Island and trash up shops to get protection money.
Cowboy: See Above
Ajax: Ajax and Snow were selected for their muscle and had to fight in a ring full of Warriors to prove themselves...having only just recieved their vests they went into Destroyer turf to see a girl (typical Ajax
) and wre ambushed and had their vests stole which they then went and regained
Snow:See Above
Cochise: Cochise grew up in Harlem but moved to Brooklyn. He pestered the Warriors about wanting to join but Cleon didnt want to know because he suspected him to be a mole. So he sent Cochise to get a Size 9 bopper hat (huge) thinking he would never find one. So, with Snow as his backup he went into Bopper turf and found Big Moe and 'beat his hat off his fat head'
Fox: Fox joined as a scout but was laughed at for his puny physique. So Cleon sent him and Vermin into savage hun turf to collect cash from the stalls (i think) but they had to wear t-shirts that said '&%@$ you huns' on.
Rembrandt: Rembrandt joined for his tagging skill ans had to prove himself in a ring against....hobos. lol
hope this helps anyone who didn't already know
