Some thoughts on Cowboy

Hey all (apologies straight up if something like this has been done before, i searched but couldn't find anything like this at all.)
It just came to my attention by reading around some forums in the past and from hearing opinions from the mouth of others that cowboy isn't too popular with a lot of warriors fans, and that he was always consider sort of a 5th wheel to the gang in the movie,
I just want to take this time to share my views on why i think he isn't baggage for the rest of the crew and why he is in fact worthy of being part of the 9 chosen delegates:
Handy with the right set of tools - as you would have noticed in the bathroom fight, he was swinging away taking down punk after punk and even had swan's back when he was getting beaten down, he was probably always intended to be the handy man with things like this.
Voice of reason - While the only example i can think of in the movie of cowboy being the voice of reason, was during the cemetery when he was quick to diffuse the Swan/Ajax face-off. However in the PS2 game cowboy is referred to as the voice of reason in the game's manual, bringing me to my next point; while it never happened, we can assume and it would be perfectly logical that cowboy fulfilled this role (getting the warriors out of any potential unneeded vendetta with other gangs/getting cops off their back.) In addition as per the game's story it was cowboy who spoke to the Saracens after him and Cochise did them a favor to get the warriors on the Riff's network.
Light relief - Being in a gang would be tough, but with member's like Cowboy they could forget about all the nonsense that would happen when it's all said and done and just chill out and have a good laugh as a bunch of friends.
Soldier in the middle - Let's face it, while what made the warriors a solid gang was their ability to bring their own unique toughness and skill to the crew, adding extra numbers couldn't hurt, so why the hell not?
and finally
A loyal founding lieutenant - Bringing knowledge and wisdom to the gang, while this was not a solid fact stated in the film, according to the video game's back story Cowboy was one of the first, and a good friend of Swan.
personally i believe these points would suffice, would love to hear any other thoughts if anyone has anything else to add which i might of missed (Heh, I'm probably gaining some good favor with the cowboy fans by doing this) but all that aside, cowboy isn't in fact my No: 1 but i do believe he deserved to be there.
