Hi everyone
Nice to see a site dedeicated to the most influential movie ever made, I saw it in Liverpool, England when it was first on the big screen, that would have been 1979/ 80.
I can still remeber to this day the audiences reaction everyone was blown away by it.
No Hollywood glitz, no glamour, no mind blowing special effects, simply what you see is what you get and thats why it worked.
The opening scene with the wonder wheel in the background and the train approaching the station as they prepare for their journey, still makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck.
Can u dig it? I certainly do.

I really love the general appeal of the movie: The cultural diversity, the gang's adversity, and there's nothing like seeing some good old-fashioned fisticuffs.
I've probably watched the movie about 30 times now, and the appeal is still evident!
It's nice to be here with people who love the movie, too-- though I'm envious of those who got to see it originally in the movie theatre. It must have been fantastic. Welcome, and enjoy your stay!

Re: First seen in 79
G'Day all! Just a quick note from a fan downunder in Australia. the first time I saw The Warriors in 1979 I thought it was just okay. But over the last twenty odd years i have grown an interest in New York City and after watching the Directors cut on DVD recently, i was blown away by it. My favourite part of the movie is definately the music, that first scene with the Wonderwheel and the train makes my hair stand up on my neck. When I found this site I was very excited to hear about the conclave in 2009 I am going to make a point of saving up for a trip to NYC regardless of whether it happens or not. Thank you for making this site available to people all over the world Hope to see you all in 2 years time

First off let me say hello to everyone and thank you for this site.I dont remember the exact year i first saw the movie but it had to be early 80's,it was halloween night and it was playing on cable for the first time.Myself and a few other neighbor kids got together at the Bayers house across the street to watch it.We sat mezmerised for 2 hours nobody saying a word, and all went home speechless.I remember going home and immediatly grabbing the cable guide to see when it was on again so i could expeirence it again,to make sure i had really saw what i had saw-i was blown away!I spent the next few years scanning the cable and tv guides for every opportunity to see it again-sometimes having to set my alarm to wake up in the middle of the night if it was on late.Anyways i dont want to ramble to much as this is my first post and i bet many have similar stories. Thanks for listening to a great memory and again thanks for this forum.
