Hi first off I'm LW and I'm 35 old person with Asbergers and a fan of The Warriors movie and video game.


Now I've got an idea for a gang comic set in 1976 New York, inspired by The Warriors movie and PS2 game. I need help finding source books and info on 1970's New York, Gang culture and slang. This is what I know the police of this era were mostly on the take, also in the 1970's the city of New York suffered from urban decay,

Like in The Warriors game and movie all of the New York gangs are over the top in dress and behavior, this comic puts the spotlight on the Wolves of Coney Island. I know some of your will say that I'm ripping off the setting of The Warriors but I like Coney Island. The main character is newbie gang member who was born too a Middle Class family but they moved too Coney Island, why would a young man with good future join a New York street gang. The Wolves are new gang on the city there rivals are the Sharks another Coney Island an older and well known gang.

The Wolves gang outfits are jean vests and pants, the Vest has there name and patch on the back which is a head of a Wolf and there gang name. Each member aslo wears a spiked collar and spiked wrist bands.

That's an impressive intro, welcome to the sight. If you want info on NYPD in the 70's try watching Serpico and The French Connection both based on real New York cops. I also think (and this is just my opinion) that they give you a pretty good insight relating to 70's New York in relation to how it looked though I'm sure the New Yorkers on this sight will verify any authenticity issues.

Well he had a good life up to a point he from Coney Island in the First place and his Parents just died mand his has a younger Sister to support, you know that old chestnut.
