When is Coney Island open - please help - from Australia

Hi all

I have emailed CI without receiving a reply so I thought I would ask here.

Will be in New York from 14th April 2013 to 21st April 2013
Planning to go to Stillwell Ave Station/ Coney Island on Saturday 20th April

I note on the CI site they state it isn't always open and being from Australia and don't understand some of your holiday dates that are listed.

Can anyone tell me if they know if CI will be open that day?

Just to clarify, Saturday is April 21, not 20

CI is always open, but, If you mean specifically the rides at Luna Park, according tho this calendar http://www.lunaparknyc.com/plan-a-visit/calendar.html, they are closed Friday 20th April, but open Saturday 21st April

But now I am cr*pping myself about our trip dates

My flight itinerary states - leave Sydney Sunday 14th - arrive JFK - 14th ( yes we cross the date line so arrive the same day we left Oz - Sunday ).....so I arrive in Manhattan Sunday 14th and check out Sunday 21st - making that Saturday the 20th.

Yet the calendar link shows it as Saturday 21st.

I have been to The States numerous times ( not NYC ) and we always land the same day in USA that we took off in SYDNEY.

What am I missing here?

That calender is a 2012 Calender
Next April 2013 is Saturday 20th

Heh! Although, in my defense, they don't have it properly labeled as 2012

I wouldn't make any concrete plans to come to Coney in April. Hurricane Sandy did major damage to most of the amusement zone. All of the businesses on Surf Ave. (including the Sideshow where the 09 conclave was) were under 6 feet of sewage water. From everything I have read the plan is to be open by Memorial Day in May but there is a lot of rebuilding to do to even make that date. Good luck.
