I was just reading the rules I thought I would have my say.
Right the 5 post rule. Surely that is some kind of joke ? I mean maybe for a newbie with a post count below say 30 then fair enough but seasoned members with more valid points, knowledge, maturity or whatever being restricted to a pathetic 5 posts - come on.
On other forums where I am a member (car forums and movie forums), I have been known to post more than 50 posts in a day when I have the time, which are usually replies to multiply threads etc.
I certainly don't need mods telling me how to conduct myself on an internet forum and I certainly don't need to be restricted because I 'cant be trusted' to reply to more than 5 posts in a concise and sensible way.
I have spent a few hours reading the forums and and have seen over 30 threads where I believe I could add something to the debate.
The film 1984 rings a bell !
The moderator actually states in a sticky that the site is dying and people are gonna get their account deleted. Of course its dying with these rules. So what if their account is deleted, who cares it ain't a bank account its an internet forum that's all. I can see half the members here having their accounts deleted - I would love to know how you think that is good for the forum :?:
Also I keep reading these veiled threats to ban even 2000 post members for minor things and again I struggle to not laugh - I mean if you don't want 2000 post members because they make a silly error then who exactly do you want posting ?
Is this forum run by adults or 13 year old's who seem to think they are adults because have a bit of power ? There is thread after thread of users moaning about aspects of the site mainly the stupid rules which appear to enforced by 13 year old's on a power trip.
The Warriors is a superb gritty film with an 18 certificate here in the UK which means 18 year olds and over (adults to you and me) should be the only ones who have seen it but running the site like is for 13 year old kinda defeat the object in the first place !
So finally do I intend to be a regular poster here ? - no sorry. I cannot spend my life with 1 eye on a post count, I cannot worry about making sure that my answer does not upset anyone in case I get a 6 month ban. Internet forums are not meant to be like that. Healthy debate is an asset not hindrance people.
This is a great forum but treating members like they are kids is nothing short of a p... take.
Sorry guys its just not for me :(
