I'm just seeking a little bit of opinion on what everyone else out there thinks about the introducting scenes of the one movie we are all here for. Please take the time to read my little speel and then tell us what you think.
The first few opening scenes of the original 1979 film, are in my opinion, some of, if not the greatest scenes of the entire movie. Apart from the deleted scenes that show Cleon, his girl-friend and the rest of the Warriors seen throughout the movie, the first train scenes and the music that goes along with them and the showing of the carnival wheel provide the strongest non-dialouge (spell?) scenes.
This shows the one all important fact for the movie: The Warriors, being on C.I., with only the Destroyers as rivals for their turf and that around theirs, have no knowledge of the rest of New York. that is besides ofcourse the obvious gang reputations such as the heavy outfits like the Riffs.
The simple yet memorable tune of the track playing (not certain of the title of it yet) when the credits are being shown and while the train leaves the first station with The Warriors and also shows the carnival wheel helps to prepare anyone who has watched or will watch this movie. It is slow and low almost like a durge but of a high pitch alsmot like a subliminal warning siren as to the events in the rest of the movie.
I just wanna see what you guys think of this if it works for you or how you rekon the beggining of the movie could be changed or enhanced (not too much to still fit in with the original as a base) to make it more impacting.
I'm not sure this could be a whole load of rubbish to everypne else out there but yeh, like I said everytime this movie starts for me haha... makes me get ready for the epic about to be shown.
