ok, so now the barrage of questions begin!

is the claim that these are original patches (not a challenge = I'm simply curious)?
wheredja get it?
HOW MUCH??
What's under the piping?
Who are you that you can afford such an item?
Can I come over and touch it?

At the risk of sounding like a character from I, Robot, those are the right questions :D

I bought the item directly from a certain Mr D Harris. Although I never directly asked him if these were original patches, he certainly assured me that this was only one of two screen-worn vests he ever had in his possession (that's not to say there weren't more). Don't know to whom he sold the other vest. I actually couldn't/can't afford this vest, but David very kindly put me on a pretty fair payment plan to help ease the pain :D Bless him! I would rather not disclose how much I paid for this vest. Hope you understand? Suffice to say: A LOT!!!

Re. your question: "What's under the piping?", what do you mean exactly?

Finally, in answer to your last question: sure :D

I have a question for you: in your humble opinion, do my items seem fairly legit to you?

So the old warriorcleon patches were a close match (he did say they were copied from a patch set owned by Larry Gordon).
I don't think anything is gonna top that for warriors memorabilia (although 4nik8 may argue that Mercy's screen worn underwear could. lol).

What's your opinion of the one on youtube (and recently ebay)? The rocker on that one looks too clean and I can't see any black outline around the letters.

How did you come to make his acquaintance?

If these remained in his possession the whole time, it's extraordinarily likely that these are ORIGINAL!

Contractually obligated, or did he just trust some English guy!?

Oh, I understand completely!

soooooooo, between 10K and 15k???

FINE!

Re. your question: "What's under the piping?", what do you mean exactly?

There was lengthy debate as to if there was ever a different strip of material under the black piping, or if it's a slightly different color due to any kind of treatment

Finally, in answer to your last question: sure :D

comin to NY anytime soon? heh

I have a question for you: in your humble opinion, do my items seem fairly legit to you?

absoeffinglutely!

I'll take another look at that and let you know...

Through a Myspace account that was set-up by his manager (Matt Beckoff), at the time.

Although I never directly asked him if these were original patches, he certainly assured me that this was only one of two screen-worn vests he ever had in his possession (that's not to say there weren't more).

That seems to be the case.

Don't know to whom he sold the other vest. I actually couldn't/can't afford this vest, but David very kindly put me on a pretty fair payment plan to help ease the pain :D Bless him!

No, no contract. Once he saw the first payment, I think he was convinced that I was a serious buyer.

I would rather not disclose how much I paid for this vest. Hope you understand? Suffice to say: A LOT!!!

Hmmm, when I get a chance, I'll have look for you...

Fraid not. Sadly :(

PHEW! That's a relief! Couldn't stand to think of you talking about me the way you have certain pretenders :D

Ok, so looking at these wonderful pics, this is what I see and how I would break it down for a customer if they wanted to order these patches from these pics (if I was still in the label biz lol):

1) THE ROCKER: It looks like the ROCKER is a MUSLIN base which is a canvas like material that comes in different thicknesses. The WARRIORS letters looked to be completely stitched on the base. It really doesn't look embroidered, but you can see the stitches confirming they were made by hand and not machine. The RED BORDER looks embroidered, and the TAN edge of the base material looks like it has a morrowed edge.

2) THE WAR-BIRD: This on the other hand looks fully embroidered except for the BLACK outline around everything. It is funny to see that the outline is not very accurate and is pretty sloppy.

3) PIPING: I am now 100% sure that there is NOTHING underneath the PIPING. It is the color that the vest was originally before it was weathered. You can see there is no other material behind the BLACK leather where it is coming off the vest.

If BOBBIE can confirm any of this, it would be great.

My question is, who is going to take these pics and make some legit patches already?

Holy crap that is nice. What are the measurements, arm pit to arm pit, size and length of the rocker and warbird. That is definitely the holy grail of Warrior items.

Thank you!

I'll have to get back to you on the armpit to armpit measurement, but the Warbird is approx. 6.25" at it's widest and approx. 9.75" at it's highest. The Rocker is approx. 10" at it's widest. The height is a little hard to calculate due to it's shape, but I'll try to figure something out for you on that...

Right, I have those armpit to armpit measurements for you: 40cm/15.75".
