At the meeting we heard Cyrus mention The Saracens and The Jones Street Boys as rivals/enemies (not word by word but it was implied) as well as The MoonRunners and The Van Courtland Rangers.

What other gangs do you think were rivals/enemies? (This is discussing the Movie btw, so The Warriors and The Destroyers don't quite count)

If I recall Swan, or maybe it was Cleon(It waws one of the warriors anyway) seems to look almost anxiously at The Hurricanes, leading me to believe there was some rivalry there.

I also get the impression that The Punks were running into a lot of Panzers and Boyle Avenue Runners in the subways.

Finally for some reason I always pictured The Boppers and The Turnbull AC's as fighting frequently due to very conflicting styles and taste, whilst the Turnbulls seem to be more sloppy with clothing and more of a punkrock style the Boppers seem to be quite the opposite,  which I can imagine would incite a lot of hatred between the gangs.

Well i think a rival gang to The Warriors were The Mongrels cause in the script in the beginning they were head bunting with The Warriors towards the conclave. Also maybe The Satans Mothers and THE Warriors cause they both reside in Brooklyn. That is my rivalries.

I allways thought Moonrunners and eliminators. You know battle of the funky jackets.

Furies and Hi-Hats. Furies win, having the best face paint.

and bats, that would help a great deal

i thought the elimators were from soho cuz they were rivals wit the hihats nd stuff nd arent the hurricanes from spanish harlem

The  Rogue's  and  the  Punk's.  They  size  up  pretty  well.

Hey karma to you for (probably) reading my old gang turfs post!

I recall in the script that Ajax upon arriving says something to the  effect of 'I wonder if any of those Nightriders are here.'  This, to me, hints toward a rivalry of some sort between The Warriors and The Nightriders.

i thonk it just means he wants to punch the nearest gang member in the face regardless of what he is in (discounting the warriors)

but harlem is a black community why would an all white gang be there? sounds pretty stupid :doubt:

The general consensus is that they were originally an all black gang, but it got changed somewhere along the line.

I'm really not sure if I can add anything to this topic. I've always kinda thought that the Gerrards might have a rivalry with the unnamed Union Jack wearing gang at the conclave. Given the tensions between the Irish and the English, especially in the 1970s, it's not exactly impossible.

I think the Gerrards would have a rivalry with the Knockdowns, an Italian gang mentioned in the script. Irish and Italian gangs historically had a lot of rivalry in New York.

Also in the script, there is a gang named the Mongols, who are the Warriors nearest rivals. We learn that these guys killed a Warrior the year before the meeting.
