A sequel to the remake: Yay or Nay?

I was wondering, if the remake has a sequel that explains what happens to some of the character's disappearances (Ajax being arrested, Fox and Cleon dying). You know, what if they make a sequel to the remake if the cult classic becomes a franchise (Action figures, Soundtrack, Video Game). Should a sequel exist even if the remake does well at the box office? Please vote in the poll to voice your opinion.
Example: "Die Hard" is an example how sequels to the basis of the cult classic film works and how sequels are made for the sequel of the remake. For those of you who don't know about the Die Hard Lineage, Roderick Thorp (The Mastermind of "Nothing Lasts forever" and the Die Hard series) Written "The Detective" which was the original which turned into a film starring Frank Sinatra as Joe Leland. Die Hard is supposedly the sequel to the film but as John McClane and this film made lots of $$$ at the box office and spawned sequels due to it's success (Die Hard 2: Die Harder and Die Hard 3: With A Vengance). So, if we follow this example, if the remake is a hit, should it deserve a sequel? (Note: Sol Yurick is still alive, he might be willing to approve of the idea.)
Now, sorry for rambling, but I tried to explain this to the best of my ability, if something needs clarification, don't hesitate to post and I will clear things up for you. Thanx for your time.
C Ya!

No sequels should be made. I think the sequels would be a cheezy thing that would be rushed to make more money and half the stuff that would be put in them would be dumb.

Yeah you got it right there!
Plus if they did do a remake... who would they fight cos I reckon most gangs would be scared of them! Plus with Swan & Mercy 'traveling'....

I'd also have to say no, The characters in the original are just classic.
(They are just irreplacable) <--- I'm not sure if that's even a real word

I made this up real quick, its my opinion on a sequel. There shouldn't be a remake and there shouldn't be a sequel, it would ruin the essence of the original. (The Matrix sequels are a prime example of greed in action)
Sorry if I have offended any Matrix sequel fans

I agree 100% about the Matrix. You can tell from the ending of the first one that there was no intent for sequels, but so much money was made so the brothers got together and created two more scripts that were rushed out so they could make more money. I have no problems waiting a long time for something as long as they come out good ex GTA games.
Hell I waited 12 years for Terminator 3 and I was so disappointed in it.

I would have to actually see the remake first---because very rarely are remakes anywhere near as good as the originals.
ANd there are a lot of ways they could muck that up really bad--so first the remake----I don't see where they would have a sequal come from --so many of the characters would have to be changed, or new characters added--
in my mind, it would questionable at best---and I see more pitfalls than postives in trying to do a sequel
I am just so hoping they don't blow the remake!!!!

How about "Wariors vs Freddie and Jason"
LOL. Any sequal or part 2 is a stupid idea
