filming location of train fire found !!!
filming location of train fire found !!!
I have just confirmed where the fire scene was filmed. The scene was shot in two different locations, the first part of the scene where The Warriors are on the train and are looking out the window at the fire from the subway platform was from the Broadway-Myrtle Ave station in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, and the part of the scene on the street level with the firetrucks, and firemen putting up the barricades, was filmed on 23rd st in Long Island City, Queens, near the 45th Rd subway station, just around the corner from where the Orphans turf was. I,m not sure why this scene was shot in two different areas, most likely for logistical reasons. Just thought I'd pass this on to those still searching for filming locations that Haven't been found yet. Still looking for the Lizzies hangout.

phillykid is on the ball!!!
Was gonna say, I thought I recognized the scene under the tracks. MTA, or ConEd, was doing some work there, week before last. Stopped in the Court Sq. Diner, right across from where that greeting cards store was in the movie. Now, it's a barber shop.

Re: filming location of train fire found !!!
I mentioned this in another thread quite a while ago; when the three warriors escape the lizzies and run into the side alley, Theres a phone number advertising the building to let, on a sign attached to the wall. Would it be possible to track this number back to 79 and see what building or company it belonged to?phillykid wrote: Still looking for the Lizzies hangout.

Good call (no pun intended). Should be an interesting undertaking.
As for the Lizzies' hideout - someone said that scene was shot somewhere near 104th and B'way.

Re: filming location of train fire found !!!
In response to the Lizzies apartment/hangout, I was up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan recently, in the vicinity of Broadway and 104th st, and I didn't recognize the area as being in the scene where the Lizzies bring Rembrandt, Vermin, and Cochise to their hangout. The street they are walking on is too small to be on Broadway, and I noticed a one way traffic sign, so that rules that out. To me it looks like that scene was shot down in Gramercy on the East side or the East Village. I was also wondering if anyone has any information on the apartment building where the Baseball Furies are seen coming out of the basement and grabbing their bats.

In an interview with one of the furies actors, i'm sure he mentioned 96th and central pk west as being the location of the furies hangout. I'll have to double check.

For many years, before I had heard about 104th & B'way, I was pretty much fixed on one of the older neighborhoods (e.g. E. Village, Lower Midtown, or.... right by Union Sq.)phillykid wrote: In response to the Lizzies apartment/hangout..... I noticed in the Lizzies scene that there was a Pizzeria sign in the window right next door to their hangout, but it doesn't give a name to the place, also you can almost make out the street sign in the background, it looks like either E. 22nd St or E. 27th St, I couldn't tell because when I freeze-framed that shot the pictures fuzzy. I'll bet that the picture on the blue-ray version is crisp enough to make out what street that was.

In response to Coney77s question about where the gas station was located, It's on the NW corner of Great Jones St and Bowery in Downtown Manhattan just West of the East Village, about 4 blocks from the candy store.
