I picked the book up at the library yesterday and I am already a little over halfway through it. it was a bit hard at first because of the language used it took me a chapter or so to figure out the lingo and what it meant, has anyone else read the book? it seems when it was published the american publisher took out the last chapter but I have the world edition with the last chapter.

Yeah, I own the world edition too. It's a great book, probably better than the movie, which is also great. The cool thing about the book is that the lingo is written so that you actually begin to understand it perfectly.

To put it simply: the book is a masterpiece!

Yeah my old high school teacher let me borrow the book.  It really makes you think.  they also had the translation for the slang in the back of the book.  The details of the book were really shocking, it makes me wonder if our individual angers will overcome us and consume us into making violence our human nature.  I think thats the one thing that never left my mind, will I become like that?  Will I condone evil to make me into that, or do I have the will power to control my institutional morals?

By the way, in the back, it mention another futuristic mind blowing book, called the "Wanting Seed", has anyone read or heard of it?

I finished the book last night and all I can say is wow. the book the way it is meant to be with all 21 chapters ends on a much better note than the US version/movie. I loved it. I wish my copy had a dictionary for the slang though lol. but I managed to sort it out by myself after a little bit

I read that book and had to get it from inter-libary loan. Luckly they had the 21st chapter version.
I watched the movie first so the lingo was eaiser to pick up. It was neat to see the differneces bettween the book and the movie.

well i have seen the film and read the book the book was great but the film was a little disturbing my mum said you have to be a propar adult to really come to grips with it and i agree

I just finished the book too. Definitely a favorite of mine. Both the book and movie were awesome, equal in my oppinion. With or without the last chapter, its great. Viddy well droogies.

I was wondering, does anyone reccomend that I see the movie since I already read the book?  Do you think that its to disturbing, or can it be handled?

well I thought it was pretty tame compared to other things I've seen. but everyone's perception of the subject matter is different.

I don't know if I could read the book.  But then again, I could probably imagine the story better since I saw the film first.
