Forms of Transportation!

hey I was thinking about trains and cars.

well I think our gang won't all be able to fit in a car, so I'm thinking that the main form of transportation will be trains and subway trains. that would be great. Trains have enough space for gangs to fit in, and anyways cars would just make defeating enemies too easy since you can run them over. plus aside from trains, it's cool roaming the streets on foot with your gang.

but the thing is, I wonder how we are gonna outrun the cops. well naturally cops won't try to run you over, but I'm thinking if a few cops can chase you on foot, do you think fighting them would result in an automatic arrest? hopefully not. I say they should only handcuff you if you are alone, get knocked out, or give up. come to think of it I wonder what are the conditions where cops are forced to use guns. guns suck, hopefully only cops have them and they only use them rarely, if ever.

but the good thing is we are able to jump over fences, this offers a greater dimension in escape and travel. lol that was sure weird that we couldn't climb/vault over fences in the past GTA games. I didn't like the theme from those games much anyway cause you are solo and their stories and characters sucked. although I did love the code where you could play as anyone. still the GTA games felt lonely and incomplete I guess cause I prefer good designed gangs that follow and watch your back, as well as the brawler aspect of combat, instead of relying on guns and cars to wreck enemies. the unarmed fighting mechanics for the GTA games need a serious makeover. they were too button mashy and one-sided, it made defense pointless (and that's not how fights are fought).

but back to trains, I wonder if the trains are like, visitable. like GTA3 for example, you just get in a train and you just see the train on the outside moving. it would be cool if you could see the inside of the trains and maybe even roam freely and fight any rival gangs that are possibly inside.

it sounds like the game will have a real-time network of train schedules. so if that's true maybe the subway trains...well maybe we can choose to pay to get on the train. :D

anyways the movie there really wasnt any vehicle traffic at all, so I doubrt there will be any driving in the game, which is perfect. Your crew could use the excercise anyway. ^_^ although since cops will have cars, it's probably possible to steal one. not sure how the number of seats + the number of members in your gang would be solved though.

Rock star wants the game to stick to Genre of Brawler. And with Driver Crazy Maniacs running over hookers is fun it gets boring but cars may be over looked.
The Subway system of course will play a role as transportation so carry some change with you in the game

yeah that rocks! I'm glad cars are out. they were way too overused in GTA games. I mean like, I couldn't help but hijack cars and drive 90% of the time in GTA games, driving gets boring fast.

besides cars/traffic would betray the source material since they never drove.

although I think there will be CPU exclusive vehicles like the Turnbull's bus, the cop cars, etc.

hehehe it's gonna be so much fun making sure I have enough change to get my whole gang in the train. :D

yeah The Cop Cars should be around.
Besides I hope theres more to just Stealing the Radio in cars....like taking the engines, wheels, and other little things to sell.

Grand Theft Auto isn't the only game R* has made  If you guys haven't noticed most of R* games are brawlers. Just check their sites game archives and see for yourself. Basicly what im trying to say is R* knows what they are doing.
