PLAY MAGAZINE - 'The Warriors'

Post by Masai »

PLAY MAGAZINE - UK PLAYSTATION2 & PSP MAGAZINE - ISSUE 129

Has a feature on 'The Warriors' game.

I haven't read the article yet as i came straight on here to let people know.

There is a pic of - Swan, Ajax, Cochise and Snow with the warriors logo on the front cover.

Inside, the article covers about 7 pages. There's about 18 screenshots from the game. Some i've seen here and on other sites before....but there are definitely some new ones. A couple show the 'Turnbull ACs', one pic shows a few of them sat on top of the bus!

There's some other pics and info from the film ect....

Not sure if this magazine is available in the US?

I don't have a Scanner, so maybe someone else can get hold of a copy of the magazine to scan some pictures for other members.

Cheers,

AL-B :D

PLAY MAGAZINE - 'The Warriors'

Ok, I've got my copy of PLAY magazine and the article looks good. The cover of the magazine is the same as the one on Game Informer.

The first thing I noticed is their "Gangs of New York" section which has blatantly lifted the images from this web site. Not quite copied it word for word!

So, straight in to the good stuff - what do the new screenshots show:

1. A warrior high kicking a Turnbull with Vermin fighting a Turnbull in the background.

2. Swan, Snow and the Turnbulls on their bus like in the movie!!

3. Cleon standing in front of Swan.

4. A fight going on at some place with a sign saying AUTO SKATTER.

5. Looks like a Turnbull about to be knifed by a warrior in the rain.

6. Warriors sitting on steps to a bar.

7 & 8. A fence and a fire and the warriors scaling a fence to get to a place near The Wonder Wheel (which looks ace!).

9. Ajax staring at the Orphans who are milling around by a car.

10 & 11. Warriors in New York and near a subway station.

12. Warriors chilling out in a club! Random!!

13 & 14. Assorted gangs fighting eachother.

15. Rembrandt stealing a car radio?

I also noticed a small picture of Rembrandt spraying a red W on a bathroom wall which I haven't seen before, or am I being thick here?

Other info from article -

*character have movie sound bites.
*game starts 6 month before events of the film.
*coney island is gang HQ and game hub where you can meet and talk to other gang members.
*play missions based on the book - e.g. initiations.
*very real animations and sounds.
*timed attacks and combo attacks.
*bottles, wood, stepladders, knives as weapons.
*reversals.
