Beat Down:Fists of Vengenace

Post by Hippy »

I saw a article from Game Informer on a Game by Capcom called "Beat Down: Fists of Vengenance" It looks good.
The graphics look well rounded, the story still hasn't been let out but you are able to choose from 1,000's of clothes Hair styles and accesories (Scars, Glasse's Etc.)
Building a gang its pretty basic GTA San Andreas but the area is in a dark city with after a few levels you get to free range around the city but still have to do missions but run your owns gang of ten guys By either negioting with verbally, Punching the $hit out of them or of Course Paying them.

It sounds good but will capcom make it good is still in question.

It sounds like they're trying to cash in on the coattails of the Warriors game. This always happens. It won't surprise me if there are 2 or 3 other gang related games released around the time of the warriors.

Just like with war games, first person shooters & racing games. All the companies will try to copy & outdo each other.

Thats not a bad thing for us fans though. :)

Actually its more like they are copying GTA San Andreas its such a big and expensive and popular game that now everyone makes different copys.

Some of them turn out good
Some are just wanna bes.
It Really depends on how the game is good.

I think this game was announced before The Warriors game was. It looks nice. I my local Blockbuster slacks off and doesn't get the Warriors, which they probably won't seeing how they don't have the movie, I'll look for that.

oh and the story has been revealed. It's not much but....

In the city of Las Sombras, 5 people are sent to help with a dealing(could be drugs, i think), but during the meeting the dealer is shot and the five people are accused. Now these five must make things right and find the people who set them up.

There's a demo on the latest OPM disc.

I played the demo, and sadly...the one on one fights were cooler.

They only let you play as Raven, and you played part of a scenario. You started out running away form a meeting, where you get to fight a couple of the hugs. They wernt too hard to beat, and it explained weapons and how to get out on some situations. Since you gain moves as you upgrade, there wernt too many moves. After that you had a one on one fight which was pretty cool, and easy at the same time. Alot of the moves dont connect, and alot of the enviornment attacks dont connect either, like the enemy will stop before he's even hit my the object. Then youre out in the streets where you can recruit members, and rob people. It's kind of stupid the wya you do it, you basically beat them into submission, grapple them, and shake them up in down to rob/recruit them. And after you customize yourself, you get arrested and fight a policeman. Then you break-out.

So, by the demo i'd say the game isnt any Warriors or Urban Reign, but a nice thing to play. If it's anyhting like the demo, i strongly reccomend renting before buying. it will probably get between a 6-7.5 .

( on the other hand, The Incredible Hulk was AWESOME! So much interactivity in teh enviornments, and the moves are crisp! Also Shaoilin Monks is a Co-Op fans dream. Me and my brother had so much fun playing that demo)
