I don't know why they just didn't call it coke in the game. It's not like they toned it down for younger players. It was already rated M, and full of profanity and brutal violence.

I suppose if they called it what it was, it would have to be rated AO (Adults Only, for the benefit of our non-U.S. posters). That, and a lot of parents groups would freak out and say it was encouraging CHILDREN to use drugs. (Never mind that "Rated M" games are not supposed to be sold to anyone under 17 - though it happens all the time.)

this is a very good topic to talk about and yeah at first i realised "hey it's cociane"and then i thought about all the girls and boys younger than they are supposed to be when playing this and maybe's thats why they did that, also it might be what the gang's call it for short in the game  :D

I knew someone who mixed up two perfectly legal substances - sugar and saltpeter - and passed it off as "fireball", after one of his friends snorted it. A stupid, though perfectly legal, move. Half of his face turned red and he got a mild rush, and I imagine a bad headache afterwards.

Anyway, he soon had people lining up at his door to buy "fireball" from him. His dad got wind of it, confiscated his supply and turned it in to the police to find out what it was. He was surprised to find out that there was nothing illegal in the concoction. He hadn't broken any kind of law, so he didn't get in any kind of trouble. However, that was in 1985 or 1986 - today with the meth paranoia in this country, he would probably be convicted of drug distribution.

You aren't familiar with the game? Awesome! It's nice to see people here who aren't here because of the game - who know The Warriors first and foremost as a MOVIE.

But to answer your question - yes, in the game, flash is obviously cocaine or some other snorted stimulant. Who knows, maybe it could even be Sweet & Low - it was after all, set during a time when saccharine was still used as an artifical sweetener, and we know how bad that was for you!

I don't think many of the people who post now were familiar with the game before the film. Most of the regular posters now only post about the film, i don't really see any new posts about the game.
**I got an inkling it's gonna be the one the children bicker over, it's that warriors vs baseball fury element that glitches motor sensory developement, i am a star really,**

A movie i went to in the theater, when it first came out, in BROOKLYN!

I don't think I'll ever play the game, as I'm far too old and devoid of patience

This is the closest i'll get to it (I should get around to reading through it one day!)

I was 9 when the movie came out - I'm not even sure it played around here. I discovered it on VHS around 1985 or so, and rented it a few times over the years. When the game came out, I bought an Xbox just for that reason, and sold it after beating the game. The game reintroduced me to the movie, which I now own.

Ironically, it was because of the game that I found this site - though my discussions by far have involved the movie moreso than the game.

Ah yes, when parents get PO'd because little eight year-old Timmy was learning about drugs in a game clearly not meant for anyone under seventeen. I love it when parents blame their crappy parenting on whatever it is they exposed their child to without even bothering to check the content first.

When I realized you had to do drugs in the game to regain health, I was cracking up. Although it made conversations interested while playing the game.

Dad: What are you doing?
Me: Oh, you know, drugs, mugging people, the usual.
Dad: *smacks upside the head*

i liked the flash thing.. adds to the slightly alternate reality of the warriors.

it wouldve been cool to see it in the film but i guess the warriors is like kind of resembling the pre drugs and guns days of gangs
