Blocking

Post by andr3w »

Unfortunately, on the XBox controller, the blocking function is reserved for the (basically unuseable) black button. Theoritically, you could do counter attacks by pushing the black button with X (which is impossible to do with one hand in practice).

I was wondering whether those of you who play on the PS2 actually use the block/counter function. Usually I'm so into the heat of the moment, running around beating on enemies that I don't even have time to consider blocking. I was wondering how usefull the function is on a better controller...?

while i haven't devoted much time to blocking, the few times i did try were basically useless.....besides, there's no fun blocking when you could be bashing heads into walls!

I tried blocking.
The opponent just grabbed me and beat the crap out of me.

When i went against Big Moe, All i did was block then after he uppercuts kick him! Then when he did that big swing ran and reapeated the blocking.

(Kinda boring, but it worked!)

That's the only time I started blocking.
The fights have to many enemies to really start blocking against the many enemies.

i find myself using the block button quite frequently actually. its kind of become habit to hold the button down while i throw punches. it doesn't block everything, but it definitely helps out here and there. the player also can duck with this feature.

it did help with big moe, but i actually found it quite a bit easier to run around that stage and come up behind him and lay a lick, then run away again.
