Fighting Force...

Post by LizzyBorden »

Fighting Force is a game made in the late 90's. It's a brawler. Action from the start. The characters, each w/ differant fighting skill [Mace and Hawk are my favorites] fight mobsters, street gangs. You fight in parking lots, subway stations, malls, city streets etc. Weapons include hand guns, shot guns [very nasty], baseball bats, car tires, pop cans, too much to list. Your fists and feet are primary weapons, japs, elbow strikes...anyone come to mind?! also roundhouse kicks, spinning kicks...you get the idea. What is so cool is you can take away your opponents weapons, from him or her, like a baseball bat and beat you opponent to a bloody pulp!

Fighting Force will keep you primed and ready til The Warriors is released, which can not be soon enough.

I'm pretty sure I had this game for Nintendo 64 [Fighting Force 64]. Was this the one with that huge guy and on the first level needed to throw the car into the gate?

The series got slammed critically, but my friend and I had quite a bit of fun with the original Fighting Force. I remember the developers went in a totally different direction with the sequel, making it more of a Tomb Raider-meets-Syphon Filter or something...

Syphon Filter was actually good, IMO. (for it's time)

I had Fighting Force on the PS One, it's a fun brawler, especially two-player. I remember you'd always end up getting into a fight with your partner because he or she accidentally threw something at you. I always used to be the big guy - Smasher. I also remember you had to smash up coke machines and drink coke to get energy. Fond memories. I agree with Luther, the sequel sucked.
