I know there is a topic like this about movies, but i just had to make one for music! 8)
So what songs made you sad?
I havent cried to a movie or a song, but the song that really got me sad was tupacs DEAR MAMA.
The line whare he says about his father (the coward wasnt there, he passed away and i didnt cry,cuz my anger woudnt let me feel for a stranger) This line was very emotional and sad for my ears.

One song that made me sad wasa Rush song called "Tears".  The music itself is saddening enough and with the lyrics it's even sadder.  I love the song though, everytime I go into the car I have to put it the CD and hear it.  I'm sure that my father would agree with me that its a preatty sad song.

i think that song tears in heaven by eric clapton made me and my family sad when my dog died i didnt vry though but i wanted to

i may get some hate for mentioning blink 182 here, but they have 2 extremely sad songs.

Adams song- a song about a blink 182 fan that killed himself, a friend of the fan sent blink a letter, along with a copy of his suicide note, hoping the band would give his friend adam (the fan who killed himself) a shout out when blink played his home town. doing him one better, blink actually took the lines from the note and turned them into a song in his honor.

Stay together for the kids- this song hit home to me cause my parents were going through a really nasty divorce around the time that this song came out.

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

... that haunting voice.... just gets to me

ELO- I'm turning to stone just makes me cry, and i never know why , i probably will never know

all of mine are Elvis songs "I'm so lonesome I could cry" "in the ghetto" "old shep" and "american trilogy"

A song that always got to me was Rainy night in Georgia by Brook Benton. Seems like he's really singing from his heart.

a song that got me sad was on Yukmouths 2nd album Thuglord:The New Testament called"If u lived my life" he talked bout what he went through and from what i heard, i brand Yuk a real rapper

yea changes from 2 pac just about  hade me boiling my eyes out i can't remember why though

Now Thats what I'm talking about - proper music.
I was struggling to think about music that I weeped over because it was sad (not just because it was beautiful) and you hit it right on the head there - that whole album 'Grace' is so powerful!

Anything by U2...for obvious reasons  :badgrin:
