New Wave

Post by paperdollorphan »

I see quite a bit of people on here are into 70's and 80's rock, which i have no problem with. But are there any 80's new wave fans on here? i listen to a wide range of music but this is one of my faves not mentioned. Some of my fave new wave bands are new order, depeche mode, alphaville.......

Like you, I like so many genres of music it is hard to name favorites.  New Wave/Post Punk is tough because it is so broad a term.  The bands you mention are great.  This brings back memories of listening to the great WLIR 92.7 back in the 80s!!  Other new wave bands I like;

Echo and the Bunnymen
Duran Duran
Psychedelic Furs
Talk Talk
Jesus and Mary Chain
The Plimsouls
Frankie Goes To Hollywood
Gene Loves Jezebel

yay! so awesome to see some of you do listen to new wave/post punk. i was excited to see so many good bands listed.  very happy to oblige JD.  on a side you, gary numan was mentioned, and i have a gary pin on my jacket that people are constantly mistaking for good charlette. this hurts.
