What artists have been better off in a group? or what artists was better off alone?

I think George Michael is better off alone, than when he was with Wham!

What about Michael Jackson better off alone than with The Jackson Five? :D Kidding!!! The Jackson Five, great group yeah... but maybe just not a real group!!! 8)

Seriously, Sting better off alone than with The Police, both from '77 to '84 and today after the 2007 "Reunion" during the Grammy Awards... "We are The Police... and We are Back!!!"
Even if their last concerts, like their early concerts, are too cool!!! 8)
It's hard to decide, but yeah Sting alone!!! 8)

When Scott Weiland went solo, he didn't do well, then he went back to STP and he came back again.  Nothing against Velvet Revolver, but I prefer him in STP.

Another solo better than when he was with the band?
Robbie Williams' songs, to me, are better than "Take That+Williams" songs!!!
Yeah I just his songs are very cool!!! 8)

i liked joe walsh when he was in the eagles but i seemed to find his solo work was better where he was able to express himself more.

Eric Clapton would have to be my favourite. He did better solo than he did in Cream and The Yardbirds. Ozzy Osbourne had some great songs solo too.
