The Main Elements to Writing an Acceptance Speech

The main elements to writing a successful and effective acceptance speech are to convey a sense of gratitude and respect for the award that has been given:

Brevity - Don't bore your audience and remember the quotes by Lord Reading "Always be shorter than anybody dared to hope!" and Franklin D. Roosevelt "Be sincere; be brief; be seated."

Wow! I won! Yay!

Gratitude - Thank the organisation who gave the award and speak highly of the competition, the people you out-performed

Thanks 9d for setting up this competition!

Share the Praise - Mention the people who supported you

A special thanks to my boss, who did not notice that i dashed off my little sketch instead of updating the budget documentation!
