i liked the music from mercenaries too.
the spanish music from just cause is pretty good too, but i think rage against the machine would of been cooler in that game

Heh, where's Prozium? :D

I like the entire Halo 1 and 2 soundtracks, Blow me Away (all instrumental) from the level Gravemind on Halo 2 and Reclaimer (Non guitar).
The entire Dyansty Warriors 4 and 5 soundtracks, but Encyclopedia is my favorite from 4.
Double Dragon 2 and 3, first level and last level especially from the 2nd, and the mission map from the 3rd.
Command and Conquer all of 'em, Hell March and Bigfoot being my favorites from Red Alert.
Heroism from Firestorm.
The GLA tracks as well as some China tracks, don't know the names, from Generals and Zero Hour.
Rocky Mountains, Apocalypse and Club Heaven, from Hitman Blood Money.
The music from the picture taking part (helicoptor) in Dead Rising.
All City part C from The Warriors.
First level from Metal Warriors.
Tetris C from Tetris.
Go Go March from Ogre Battle.
Floating Continent from Final Fantasy 3.
Jenova Battle from Final Fantasy 7.
The first level of Smash TV.
Sasha's Theme from Dual Strike (Advanced Wars)
Toe Jam and Earl had some awesome tunes as well :D.
Battles Toads and Double Dragon (both in one game) for the SNES.
Red Faction music.

I obviously don't know the names of these tracks.

The music in the original Quake for the PC was pretty cool. As I remember you could play the game disc in a CD player - or maybe that was the official addon pack CDs.

The #1 all time video game song is The original Mario Brothers for NES.  When people here that after not hearing it for 15-20 years, they smile.  When they happen to see an NES set up they can't resist getting in one game.

Oh I would also like to add one of my favorite songs of all time. Anybody who has heard it knows how much it fits the character. "One Winged Angel", Sephiroths Theme. All of the variations of the song are great.

Right here ^___^ Been a bust week :D

Anywho, this is totally my kind of topic! My favorites:
The Hitman soundtracks composed by Jesper Kyd - Wonderful epic, orchestral pieces that totally fit the mood of the games

Max Payne 2 soundtrack by Kärtsy Hatakka & Kimmo Kajasto - I think we all love the main theme for max payne, tradgic yes beautiful. The rest of the soundtracks are pure bonus :D

The main theme to Silent Hill by Akira Yamaoka is flat out beautiful. The rest if the soundtrack has a very different feel to it, though it's still extremely good.

EVERYTHING off of Graeme Norgates score to Timesplitters 2 kicked ass! From wild west music to futuristic groove beats, everything sounds top notch.

Who DOESN'T love the Hell March from Red Alert 2? The rest of Frank Klepacki's soundtrack is pure class as well, some incredibly rocky/techno-y beats.

The Starcraft soundtrack is awesome as well, very ambient and progressive.

The soundtracks to Half-Life 1 & 2 are great. Flat out great. Some trance/techno/ trip hop bordering beats that you don't really notice when you first play the game. The music itself deserves to be listened to by itself.

The Painkiller soundtrack was most excelent as well. A Bit generic and over the top at some points

And finally, Rich Ragsdale's score to Alien VS Predator is a clear favorite as well. A mix of epic and creepy make this a great listen.

For all of you who have a game, and love the music to it, this site has a great selection of video game and anime soundtracks. http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks.php (Remember, you have to own the game/license to download these legally...*wink wink*)

My favourites:

Metal Gear Solid - composed by Konami Computer Entertainment (KCE) Sound Team Japan (comprising Takanari Ishiyama, Gigi Meroni, Kazuki Muraoka, Lee Jeon Myung and Hiroyuki Togo) - one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard in the games

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - composed by Harry Gregson-Williams, Norihiko Hibino and TAPPY - again MGS. Still it has that fantastic sound. Composers are phenomenal.

The Warriors - composed by Rockstar Games - awesome soundtrack. It has those atmospheric eerie sounds created by synth effects. The soundtrack is really in a movie style.

Machinarium - produced by Tomáš Dvořák - the best soundtrack of point-and-click adventure games. There are really great atmospheric sounds. I could say that this is really good soundtrack for independent developing company.

Manhunt - produced by Craig Conner - this guy is amazing. He was creating the sounds on an old worn-down Korg mono/poly analogue synth keyboard with phenomenal effects, very similar to The Warriors. Creepy.

Front Mission 3 - composed by Koji Hayama and Hayato Matsuo - amazing soundtrack. It has that war-style sounds with fantastic synthesizer effects. The original soundtrack has many tracks released on 2 CD's.

Final Fantasy VII - composed by Nobuo Uematsu; his role for the majority of subsequent albums has been filled by Masashi Hamauzu and Takeharu Ishimoto - great soundtrack. It creates fantastic atmosphere when you play the game and it has so many good tracks.

There are so many good video game songs but these are one of my favourites.
