I like the old UFC when it didn't matter the size of the aponent, they just threw guys in the octagon and it was a tournament. But the new fighters are just as hard core and in fact better fighters because they have learned all different styles. I just like the old tournaments, except for not having time limits.
This is what Bruce Lee wanted, all differnt style fighters going at it to develop the most effective combative form. In fact, his idea was to have no formal styles just whatever worked the best to kick someones a$$

I'm not saying they aren't articulate it just seems too savage to me.yids-warrior wrote: hey i love my boxing to i just hate all the massive ego's that go with the fighters these days,i know i used the word ANIMAL but...i think the i like the term hard man better hahaha these people are quite articulite if u hear them and very very respectful towards each other which is something u just dont see in boxing anymore!
Also most boxers are respectful. I left out Maywaether because he isn't and avoids decent fighters and i don't like the way he fights either.

yup, there arguement was ufc is safer because when taking many blows to face and head you can stop and take the fight to the ground.yids-warrior wrote: theres no way you will agree with me fox but.......ultimate fighting is actually safer than boxing!proven fact!

Yep, those were the days... Fighters of all shapes and sizes going at it. You'd get some massive big bad mutha against a tiny skinny wee guy... and you'd always be suprised at the outcome.Godfather wrote: I like the old UFC when it didn't matter the size of the aponent, they just threw guys in the octagon and it was a tournament. I remember watching those old tapes of UFC 1-6 and loving them... Who can forget Pat Smith's fight against that Texas Ninjitsu geezer in UFC 2? Nasty... Or Orlando Weet's fight against that big Judo guy which resulted in Orlando being pinned to the ground and recieving a ton of elbows to the head, half of which were after he was knocked out... Ouch.
Oleg Taktarov was the man too, but the fighter I liked most was Tank Abbott. That fight he had against that big hawaiian guy... we all know how that ends! :p
Man, I need this stuff on DVD.
