barca v real madrid is the biggest,that thing goes back to when franco went on a mission to wipe out the catalonian peoples spirit and erradicate the catalan language from the mouths of the very people,because catalonia was the last spanish state left to stand up to franco when he overthrew spain and he took this very personaly this rivalry is the most deep rooted!because of the political history,at one time the only place that the catalan language could be heard was inside camp nou no-one spoke it outside the stadium because it was BANNED!
thats just my opinion.then again i have newcastle v sunderland on my doorstep and they really hate each others guts haha but not like barca v real!!!
