Ugh, I can't stand bench pressing, I'm so bad.
I prefer curling weights.

For the past few years or so I do a couple hundred push-ups (on fists) and sit-ups (none of that "crunches" b.s.) a day, I run two miles every other day as long as the weather is good, and I jump rope every day.
Also theres' leg lifts, bicycle kicks, etc. But I recently started lifting real weights and I'm only at 50 lbs on the curling bar and clean + press for 3 sets of 25. I do lifts with the curling bar too.
I recently re-started JKD (after a two year break) so I'll be in great shape soon enough.
but hey Cutthroat, the reason I waited so long to lift weights was so I wouldn't stunt my growth. If you're 13 and doing heavy lifting, just be careful. All of my dad's brothers are atleast 6'1'', but because he started lifting wieghts at your age he's only 5'7''.

I was wondering why that was. I always noticed that the buff guys in high school were real short. Now I know why.

But I'm already 5'9" so if I only grew one or two more inches i'd still be happy

push ups on fists - japanese films/books influence?
yeah...thats true about growth.
also, because your body groth rate is high under the age of 16, lifting weights can deform your spine so be careful at 13...
plus, your talikng lbs mate...not kg.
Running wise...well i started about a month ago...done a 3 mile first, then 4.5 then 6 miles.
got an 8 mile multi-terrain race in feb of 8 miles so im getting ready for that. then ill pick it up as i go on to eventually a proper marathon.
