sorry if this rubs anyone the wrong way, but after reading the Shawn Michaels Biography, I'm not a fan of Bret Hart.  when I read why they did the infamous "montreal screw job" I don't blame them.

Storm...I havn't read that but I think I know why they did it, wasn't it because he beat up Vince mcmahon and as Triple H said on one show

"Vince acted like he was a commentator then we all knew he was the owner but when the show came on he wasn't the owner, until that night"

then the camera truns to shane

"I think after that my dad just thought enough was enough and the gloves came off."

and the ending of that was Mr. Mcmahan himself saying

"I didn't screw bret, bret screwed bret"

so that was obviously a topic still on everyones mind but you know who didn't have their say on that show Bret.

the whole reason the Montreal Screw Job went down was Bret didn't want to drop the title to Michaels in his home town before he left for WCW, so instead of taking a chance on Bret going to WCW and dropping the belt in the trash like Alundra Blaze did to the women's championship they did that. so yes as Vince has said Bret screwed Bret, if he would have just swallowed his pride and dropped the title to Michael in a respectful way the Montreal Screw Job never would have happened.

I have an autographed copy of Brets book, he states that another reason why he didn't wana drop the belt is also because shawn was being a coked up moron ad spreading rumors about him cheating on his wife with sunny and doing stuff like wiping his nose on he canadian flag, and triple h and michaels kept writing scripts for themselves where they could make fun of Brets brother Owen(r.i.p) and Shawn Michaels is a lowlife anyway, his idea of fun back in the day was getting so coked up he got beaten to a pulp by a bunch of marines because he was touching their girlfriends and stuff. it was so hilarious though because backstage after the screwjob bret was arguing with vince while shawn hid in the corner like a little girl and when bret punched out vince and looked at shawn, he was crying and saying he never did anything and had no idea of vinces plan, so bret spared him, now hbk likes to make fun of him and such because bret is a stroke victim and can't defend himself, but i live in calgary ab (brets hometown) never met a single person who likes shawn michaels.

this is like such a coinisidence coz today i was watching videos about the Montreal ScrewJob on YouTube and the funniest video was when HBK was in the ring in 2005 and was saying stuff and then bret's music came on and the croud went spaz and he was acting scared and then started like dancing around and said like "i got your hope's up didn't i?"
