So I know this part isn't as long as the others but that is due to the fact that i've said all I want to in this part. If I add any more without putting it in context then it'll get confusing. Enjoy!
-------------------
"You're kidding!"
"Nope"
"He actually..."
"Yup"
"And he's alright with..."
"Yup"
"So that means I can see..."
"Yes! For God sake stop with all the freakin' questions!" Robin exclaimed getting up from where she was sitting while Melody sat dumb struck.
"I'm sorry but I just can't believe Maisi would swallow his pride like that...He actually appologised!" She said with a grin. Robin smiled herself.
"I know, it happened" She said, she paused for a moment "I can't help but think that it's all too perfect though" Melody raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" Robin opened the fridge and pulled out two beers, opening them and walking over and handing one to Melody.
"I can't help but think there's something behind it all, you know? Like painting over the cracks in a wall thats about to crumble" She said quietly. Melody took a swig of her beer, staring at her friend like she'd just dribbled down her shirt.
"Fucking hell you are so dramatic! Why won't you just take it for what it is? A good thing! Take it and run!" Robin smiled and sat down next to her friend.
"I guess you're right"
"No, You know I'm right!"
"So...how does a trip to Coney sound?"
-----------------
Maisi sat quietly, watching over a martial arts lesson that was being held by one of his top soldiers. Standing near him was Mike, who stood silently.
"Mike" Maisi said suddenly, making the Riff jump at the sudden noise. Mike stepped forward.
"Yes, Maisi?" Maisi stood up and started to pace side to side, his hands clasped behind his back.
"Do you think I did the right thing? By apologising to Robin" He said. Mike shrugged a little.
"Well...yeah. You made Robin very happy" He said. Maisi nodded.
"Do you think she'd be willing to spend more time with me now that I have, how would you say, extended my hand in friendship?" Mike didn't know what to say. Maisi was opening up to him and even though he was a very high up Riff he had never heard his leader be so honest but he knew exactly why. Maisi knew fine well that Mike and Robin were friends and he was trying to get information from Mike.
"Well....I..Umm" he stuttered. Maisi quickly turned on his heel and stared at Mike through his heavily tinted glasses. Mike swallowed hard. "If I know Robin, she'll be going to Coney to see that Warrior Boyfriend of hers" He said quickly. Maisi raised an eyebrow.
"Boyfriend? Are you sure?" he asked. Mike nodded.
"Well I suppose so...she is very fond of him" He said. Maisi nodded and moved closer to Mike. So close that his chest was only inches away from Mikes.
"Listen to me soldier, I'm going to need certain peices of information regarding Robin" Mike took in a deep breath.
"Wh...What kind of information?"
"Where she goes, who she see's and most of all what she's thinking. I know she talks to you" Mike shook his head a little.
"Maisi, with all due respect, Robin is a very good friend and I..."
"Do this for me...and you'll become my second in command. The only person who will be higher in this gang than you will be me" Mike nodded and Maisi showed a ghost of a smile. "Now I want information, and you're going to provide it for me. Deal?" He asked, his hand extended. Mike reached his own out and shook it.
"Deal"
-------------------------
"No Way!"
"Yup"
"You're kidding?"
"I can't believe i'm having this conversation again...YES. THAT. IS. WHAT. HAPPENED!" Robin stressed to Vermin as they walked hand in hand over the Coney island boardwalk. He had a confused look on his face and Robin was starting to get bored of having the same conversation with everyone she had told.
"Sorry, but it's just so not like him! Are you sure he's telling the truth?" Robin nodded.
"I don't have any reason to doubt him..." Vermin frowned.
"Well..if he comes marching down here again don't say I didn't warn you" He exaclaimed. Robin smiled and turned to him, kissing him on the cheek.
"Alright, if he does then I promise I'll com clean your wounds for you" She giggled. Vermins mouth hung open in mock hurt, making Robin laugh even harder.
"Hey! I'll have you know...I got thrown into a mirror and I didn't have a mark on me" He said, attempting to look smug. Robin raised an eyebrow. "Alright, so I had a few bruises but I didn't bleed...much" He added quietly at the end. Robin smiled sweetly at him and put her arms around his neck.
"Auw my poor brave Warrior" Vermin grinned.
"I am brave ain't I?" Robin rolled her eyes and laughed.
"Oh yeah! You write the most intimidating notes in the city!" She quipped, letting go of his hand and walking away. He stood for a moment thinking until he finally realised what was said. He quickly began to walk after her.
"Come on! You said you wouldn't bring that up again!"
With a sudden burst of energy he sprinted after her, his legs suddenly feeling stiff as he chased her onto the sand. He forgot that converse were not the best for running on sand. It was one of those perfect moments that if he could have bottled it, he would have. The sun shining on the sand, the waves breaking, both of them running around like kids without a care in the world. She couldn't help but let out a small yelp as she turned around only to feel his shoulder in her stomach and his weight falling down on hers, both of them tumbling to the sand and laughing like maniacs. It took them both a few moments to catch their breaths, Robin shoving Vermin off and sitting up, leaning on her knees. He moved over and sat beside her, their backs leaning against the boardwalk. Vermin took a deep breath, looking ahead towards the ocean but his hand in Robins.
"You know I love you right?"
"Yup"
"Cool"
---------------------------
She couldn't keep the smile off her face the whole subway ride back to Gramercy and she was sure she must have creeped out more than one person. She was met with a familiar smiling face as she came out of the subway station.
"I suppose from your frantic smile that you had a good time in Coney?" Mike asked as Robin almost bounced over to him. They walked side by side down the street, Mike with his hands clasped behind his back in awkwardness.
"He told me he loved me! Can you believe it?!" She gushed. Mike shot her a small smile and continued to walk.
"Thats great. So I guess thats you two a couple then?" He asked. Robin just nodded.
"I guess so. I'm so freakin' happy!" She excliamed "Are you alright? You're kinda quiet" she said, the smile fading a little. Mike nodded.
"Oh? I'm fine, just going to go see Maisi so I'm trying to prepare you know?" Robin smiled at him.
"Alright, i'm going to head in. I'll see you later!" She said before kissing him on the cheek and bouncing inside the apartment block.
---------------------------
"Are you sure?" Maisi snapped. Mike nodded without saying a word. He couldn't bring himself to. Maisi began to pace back and forth, like a tiger trapped in a cage. "I'm afraid i'm going to have to do something about that" he growled. Mike cleared his throat and stepped forward timidly.
"With all due respect, I don't see what the problem is. The Warrior isn't a threat to us in anyway..." He said quietly. Suddenly Maisi spun around on his heel and threw off his sunglasses, the smash echoing against the stone walls. He was so close to Mike, towering over the Riff with a terrifying intensity.
"THE PROBLEM IS THAT SHE IS MINE!" He screamed, shoving Mike hard against the wall "MINE AND NO-ONE ELSES!" he began to take deep, steadying breaths, walking over and examining his shattered glasses. Mike pulled himself together and didn't take his eyes from the manic Riff's leader.
"S..so what are you going to do?" Mike asked quietly. Maisi turned to him with a sneer on his face.
"Get rid of the Warrior and show Robin what I can offer" He said simply "But I can't do it alone"
"How? Killing him isn't exactly going to make her come running into your arms" Mike quipped. Maisi frowned and nodded.
"Do you really think I don't know that!? If theres one thing I know it's that there is nothing more vulnerable than a woman scorned"
"I thought it was hell hath no fury..."
"Same thing. Get me the Lizzies down here, i'm going to need them"
