Hi guys, does anybody know about next "The GodFather" part?
I mean, some months ago I read about it in a movie magazine, and how about it was very hard to make a new GOOD chapter... but in order to that article they were trying to write something interesting.
The article was by an italian movie journalist, and I don't know how his source was reliable. i.e. I think it'd be awesome but also very hazardous... so have you heard anything about? 8)

Hi Lions. I've heard a rumour about "The Last Don" as title, but I wouldn't know... so do they speak, in the States, about a "coming soon" making of? I mean being an american movie, US indiscretions will be more reliable.
(Anyway I think "The Last Don" is also a movie about J.G., real New York Padrino, died few years ago.)

You know kingleon, I'd say the "GodfFathers" were about Michael and Vito (so we need the 3rd 8))... IMO next chapter should be Vincenzo-Vincent (Andy Garcia) consecration as GodFather (at last in the 3rd there always was Michael on his back).
I mean, first of all, should he revenge himself for Michael's daughter "murder" or not? (Even if they knew "that was the price!")
Plus, being a young Padrino he'd lead his family and all the businesses to the end of the 20th century... to a new social, political and mafious age... it'd be very interesting to know how they'll write the plot... well always hoping they'll really do it! 8)   

I think if they were to make a 4th installment, they should do it as Tony Corleone seeking revenge for his sister's death.

Yeah, excellent idea too!!! I didn't think about Tony... you mean Tony as his father Micheal... before another kind of man -"I don't want to know anything about Mafia"-, then GodFather!

Well at this point Vince would be old.  Tony asks for a last and only favor.  To find the killers of her sister.

Oh ok ok, but do you mean Tony as GodFather or only asking 4 a last and only favor to Vince?
Cause I don't think Vince and Tony would be older than 50 years ( they are almost the same age, and new movie setting should be in 1995-2000). 8)

For a "Godfather Part 4" would be a lame idea...Part 1 and 2 were classics...and if we didn't have the 2nd part then the first part wouldn't make any sense as to how the Corleone family and their followers started what they did...however Part 3 was continuing the legacy but Michael Corleone is much older and gives the "job" to his nephew-Andy Garcia (from what I remember)...The 4th just destroys the legacy of who we have always known to be as The Godfather...its a classic...I think three Godfathers is enough...Sometimes too much "chapters" of one movie kills the classic taste...and if there is a 4th one I won't be surprised if someone else other than Coppola will direct the movie and not do such a great job at it...its just better to let it be the way it is...let's remember how Diane Keaton's character wanted to see this mafia business to end...Vito and Michael were like the "stone" in the family...so the 3rd one is where it all ends...once Michael Corleone is not in charge...everybody goes their separate ways...

On the DVD extras Mario Puzo the writer said he had completed half of a script for part 4 which was going to be a prequel.  He wanted someone like Leonardo DiCaprio to play a young Sonny.  But he seemed upset that the studios didn't want to make it so he never finished it.  Sadly Mario passed and we will never really know what his total vision was. 

The Last Don was written by Puzo but it was a tv movie. 

Actually I thought part three sucked. 

Yeah man, I knew about last (half) Puzo's script!!!
Indeed his total vision would have been the best answer to Part 4... anyway... 

By the way, IMO, at this point Part 4 should just be a new chapter (not a prequel).
I mean, it should be "Vince-Andy Garcia" time!!! 8)

I don't know how they are going to make another godfather but they are such famous movies though the movie got rated the best movie ever made.

I haven't heard anything about making a part 4.
