If anyone gets the chance to see this then do so. It's well good. The young kid playing the lead is amazing. The whole film really puts you through it. The violence is very real and a bit disturbing. Can't imagine it'll be released in america though. Not sure how america stands when it comes to small budget english films. I give it 5 popcorns out of 5.

It actually sounds interesting.  Well, America has a lot of Indy flicks of our own, that don't make it to theater.  We do have a channel called "IFC"(Independent.Film.Classics) for the low budget Indy flicks that actually do have a good story to tell, and are put on there.  Basically they are Indy film s from all over the world, and from different era.  So who knows it might pop up on there.  Sometimes it even shows old Grinhouse films, like Dawn of the Dead, or that English film Afraid of the Dark.  Ufortunatley, Indy films don't get the rcognition they deserve, but they are well known.  Heres the link to This is England

80's england was a pretty grim place, but the original skinheads were'nt actually racists!they was into two-tone music and soul.most if not all skinhead gangs from council estates all over the country had black kids in them!i think sean meadows(director) has tried to show this from the clips i have seen.which is good i think! :)

It looks great. I'm going to try to get a hold of it this weekend. I might be wrong, but with the skinheads and the racism, it almost looks like American History X. Let me know if I'm wrong but I can't wait to see it.

Not like American History X, except the fact that it has skinhead racism.  It tells more how skinheads used to be about unity among the races.  Just working class English.  In fact the OG skins were into black music.  The soundtrack rocks!  Takes me back to the 80's and I found a few new ska bands (they are really the original ska, but were new to me) from the sountrack.

I loved this film but I found that you really have to be in the mood to watch it because it can get quite heavy. It's a little bit like Romper Stomper (One of Russel Crows early films about a gong of skin head...I recomend that as well!) The little boy was fantastic but its definately not for the faint hearted!

It's quite a powerful and moving film, and Shane Meadows is a brilliant director (highly recommend Dead Man's shoes if you haven't yet seen it). I like the fact that Combo (Stephen Graham) is so adamant that he as a person represents everything that is English in his country, and he couldn't be further from the truth if he tried.

Also btw hi, I'm new here so be gentle  :D

I would be gentle but this topic is for Warrior rank only! Read the rules a little more carefully next time.
