Alright peeps, here's my review of The Grudge 2. First off, before you see this movie you should know a couple of things: This is NOT a remake of Japan's Ju On 2. It is an original script written just for the American sequal. Second, if you're a Sarah Michelle Geller fan, don't blink cause she has 1 line and is in for little more than a cameo.
This movie basically has three storylines going on at the same time spread out from 2 days after the first movie to 2 years in the future. I STRONGLY suggest you watch The Grudge before seeing this movie cause it really is a confusing and mess of a plot.
The main storyline is Aubrey is sent to Japan to bring home Karen (SMG) after she is institutionalized for burning down the house and accidently killing her boyfriend in The Grudge. SMG's cameo lasts just long enough to pass the curse on to Aubrey before she dies. (Apparently, the "curse" is more like a virus in this movie and can be passed from person to person without ever having to visit the house)
The second story involves Allison, an American schoolgirl in Tokyo who gets pressured into following her new friends to check out the house, and you can surely guess what happens next.
The third story revolves around an American family in Chicago. Trish moves in with her widowed boyfriend and his son, and suddenly the girl in the apartment next door is getting grudged.
Naturaly, all these stories seem to tie in at the end, although it doesn't really make sense and like I said will confuse the hell out of anyone who just wants to watch a good horror flick. I suggest you wait for the DVD unless you're really a fan of the first movie. In the meantime, see if you can hunt down a copy of JU-ON 2, the real sequal, to tide you over.
