One of my favorite Westerns is The Long Riders (1980) directed by Walter Hill (The Warriors 1979 director).  The movie has a great story line, soundtrack, great acting and stunts.

The movie stars the Carradine brothers (Younger clan), Keach brothers (James clan), Quaid brothers (Miller clan).

Steve Chambers (Baseball Furies - purple/black face) is in the movie as actor/stuntman.  He plays the Pinkerton (black hair/mustache) who is shot off the back of his horse by Cole Younger (forest scene - later seen dead in the morgue).   He was jerked/cabled off the back of the horse and lands on his back.  As Stunt Double for Keith Carradine, Steve Chambers goes through a storefront window pane on horseback - later seen (in addition to other stunt double work for Keith Carradine - seen through out the movie).

There are some great stunts performed by an awesome crew of some of Hollywood's greatest Stuntmen.  Look at the scene trailering the pig farm massacre- there is a verical (almost 90 degree) on-foot run made by the stuntmen.  It took a couple of days to film on rough footing/terrain (Walter Hill wanted the run hard and fast - kind of like the Furies run in The Warriors).

If you haven't seen it - check it out.
