Ok guys, I personally like Bobby D. better. Pacino gave us Tony Montana and Michael Corleone, but Robert gaves us young Vito Corleone, Travis Bickle, Jake LaMotta, Al Capone, Jimmy Conway, Max Caddy among other great roles. Since this has to do with actors, I put it under this topic.

AlP has a bit more range than RD--but lately R is coming in to his own with a comedic touch too.
I sort of lean toward Al,he was stretching his ranges and trying new directions first, but I truly appreciate R's talent, so I don't think I could really pick one over the other, just depends on the role.

I always feel like RD is somewhat harder edged than Al.

Man, for every crooked mobster that Paicno can pull out....DeNiro can just doa Travis Bickle an slap their criminal butts down.  :badgrin:

And when Sidney Lumet or DePalma or whoever chooses to make Pacino grow into a giant monster, DeNiro can summon the Supermegamegabot Scorcesetron to fight pacino once more.

Now I really want to see that. Scorcese can be Zordon, DeNiro can be all the Power Rangers combined into one, and DeCaprio can be Alpha.

deniro for me,read the book wiseguy(aka goodfellas)by nick pillegi,deniros portrayal of conway is so spot on it's frighteing,he could be the guy,although i though joe pesci stole the film and got the deserved oscar

i'm with deniro, he has more depth/dimension as far as his acting goes.  hes been in all sort of movies and played so many different/better roles in comparison to al pacino. 

al pacino IMO is a one dimensional actor and it doesn't help that hes typecasted for most of his roles.  he always some over the top character who likes to scream a lot.  i'd love to see him to a romantic comedy or a suspenseful drama, not because i'm ghey or anything(not that theres anything wrong with that  ) but just to see if he could pull it off.   

anyway, deniro all the way.  8)

I love the early work of both guys.  But I think Deniro is cruising through some of his newest roles.  At their best, nobody could bring it like those two.

Haterist----try: AUTHOR AUTHOR---it is Al as a playwrite with BIG extended step family, and he is wonderful.  Lots of kids--very different--and the role that made me just really look at what he does.
Not that he doesn't shout some during domestic situations, but on the whole he is great---one of my favorites after Godfathers!!

i like pacino more because ever since ive seen way more pacino movies and he also has a bunch of classics like godfather, scarface, carlitos way, dog day afternoon

No please don't cast Deniro in a romantic comedy!  Just let Hugh Grant continue to do those so I'll know which ones NOT to watch if his name is in the cast.
