I don't consider myself a hard core fan, I only like and have the first part, I must admit that this movie changed the way I see everything around me for-ever and changed my future plans as well, all for the better. No so much the fights and special effects, but the whole idea of being trapped in this thing called "the matrix" or EARTH {if we speak of reality} and the struggle to live through it and trying to disconnect from everything we've been thought to see as normal or part of life. What comes after everything?

The Matrix, yes, I'm a pretty big fan. The sequels though...they make me sad in the pants.

I liked the first one and I saw the second one and it was alright. I wouldn't call myself a die-hard Matrix fan.

The first one was great and original, the second I try to enjoy as a martial srts movie, but the seuqls are too much.

Their dialogue is some of the worst out there, in my opinion they are either giving you too much stuff thats irrelevant to the story, or are giving you the opposite, the whole "Trinity kisses Neo and he wakes up" dealie.

The problem I think is that while the first one proposed ideas, the second and third went really hardcore (I get the idea that the Wachowskis really believe this stuff) with them and killed the films. A good example of how to do a philosophical speech would be one from the first movie, or for example in SLC Punk when the stoner guy is explaining how lightning is an example of how there is only order in the world.

And the sequels were coming out right when I was getting out of that "unrealistic combat(!)" phase. But I think that they just became a little corrupted by their power, a little too into their story, as exemplified by the game, Animatrix, the MMORPG, etc.

The fight between Morpheus and Neo in the first one is still the best of the series! They teased us in the Matrix and Reloaded with Morpheus doing the knee smash again, he should have actually landed one in Revolutions just to make it complete.  :( :)

And they became alittle too onbessed with thier fighting and/or technology. In my opinion when you look at the fight scene in Club Hel in real time, with the guys running on the ceiling, it is a lot more effective that having EVERY. SINGLE. SHOT. IN. SLOW. MOTION.

And it really bugged me how no one realy aimed in that fight either. It's a shame. I dunno, watching the ending sequence of the Agents chasing Neo in the first Matrix, there was real sense of danger there (especially when the knife gets chucked at the doorway!  :D), and that was just lacking from the sequels.

And wouldn't Trinity just DIE!!!?!??!!  Really, these guys are just like Lucas with the prequels, too many people are surrounded by yes-men in Hollywood, too much worship of the director.

Funny, seeing Christian Bale in equilibrium and Tom Cruise in the cassock in the MI:3 trailer makes me wish one of them had played Neo, it would have been a better ending result!

I was not all about the sequals, but I ended up likeing them. They added on to the story and the hardcore specisl effects, and you cant say they where over done because that is what The Matrix is all about "mind blowing, special effects."

this is where i excel!
i got all the matrix films plus the animatrix!
i hate it when people say that the sequels were crap i loved them mostly because of the fights!
i admit the 'why'? question got annoying but get over it!
the matrix troligy rules and kicks ass!

I wish the first one was the only one they made. I would have been happier wondering what happened next rather than finding out through the horrible sequals.

I found all of them pretty amazing.

Gotta love it when Neo fights all of those Mr. Smiths.
And the fight between Neo and those crazy guards, the weapons they used are cool.

Here's how I see it:  The first one was very fresh and had an edge.  There was a lot of mystery and shock.  I found the sequels to be overly dark.  Not contentwise, literally not very well lighted.

yeah, emissary is right.

The lighting issue is a microcosm of the seuqls in general. They have a style, then they kill it with the sequels. In this instance...everything had a slight green tone when in the Matrix. I dare anyone to look at that color of sky during the highway chase and not get a headache after ten minutes.

the matrix movies are good beacuse its based on real thinks
david ike made books based on what some things i the real matrix that we live in

if you look for the messeges in the movies they are indeed there

i think that these movies (except the 3rd) drop major knowledge on your mind, so much that its to much to handle, so they give you the fightscenes...give your brain a rest....and soak up the knowledge.

for alot of the good messeges in movies

my good good friend Jon Lippe did edits to the movies to only show you the parts that are based on facts...and real stuff, or could be real stuff. knowledge things

you can see these videos here

http://millenaissance-movement.com/videos2/

in the section MESSAGE IN THE MOVIES

it covers a bunch of diffrent movies

really, you dont wanna hear the weird stuff i think about movies the connections between movies, aliens, life, the world.....but hopfully these clips will help show you that there may be more to movies then just a good flick.....as i said the matrix movie is based on way more then slow mo bulletes and fights. the info in the movie is based on alot of real stuff that David Ike and others know about
