I just bought this but hadn't seen it in 25 years. I remembered it being so cool. It was really boring for a long time. Then the fighting started and it got much better. But boy oh boy, they make you work overtime before you get to the good stuff.

Hell yeah, those were the best movies. I remember back in the 70's and early 80's, we would go to the movies on Saturday morning and watch Godzilla flicks. Sometimes they would show re-runs from the 60's and man I remember when Godzilla would come out after an hour of verdubbed dialog, all the kids would go crazy, and all for less than $3 bucks {popcorn, candy, hotdog, drink} unlike today, $15 bucks just for the ticket and the drink!

I have all the old Godzilla movies on tape---we love them at my house.
Never cared for the "new and improved" versions of him either.
Always loved Mothra, and Monster Island.
When my son was little, Godzilla was his favorite monster movie, and he needed to know everything--so we went to the film guide and looked it up--it was made the year I was 4-so I told my son that I am 4 years older than Godzilla. And unfortunately for the next two weeks everytime he answered the phone-he would say "Hello, did you know my mom is 4 years older than Godzilla!" I couldn't figure out why everyone seemed to be laughing when I got to the phone. When I finally caught him and EXPLAINED that that was NOT the way to answer the phone! sigh LOL, I can laugh now!! but now, my son and sisters never let me forget!!
They even put it as a birthday reminder in our local paper--OMG-about died--I know they worked overtime to find an old time black and white of original Godzilla!
