Those first ten minutes of the movie just blew me away. I think the only time I was that impressed by the beginning of a movie was with saving private ryan. You know when the opening scene just gives you a punch in the stomach.
The brutality of the fight, the crudeness of the weapons, it just seemed like a tribal type of thing. They ripped an ear out for crying out loud!
I have the DVD and I can honestly say I've watched those minutes a lot of times.
And yes that was great acting by Daniel Day Lewis.
