From Dusk Till Dawn.

Post by the wigan warrior »

I did search so sorry if its old, i will kill the topic if it has been made before.

So yeah, how do you all rate this film? Personally i think its one of Quentin Tarantino's best afer Pulp Fiction of course.. it has some of the most hilarious quotes in this movie examples...

: So what's your name, darlin'?
: Kate. What's yours?
: Sex Machine, pleased to meet you.

another...

Kate: Where are you taking us?
Richie: Mexico.
Kate: What's in Mexico?
Richie: Mexicans.

I think this could of been a great movie if they stayed with the original story and sacked all the vampires.. It doesn't realy matter though i loved the Vampire action scenes.
So who else likes this movie.

I love this movie too. I like the way that half the movie is your average 'convicts up to no good' type of story, and then BAM! there's blinkin' vampires everywhere! I watched this with my Dad, and he never saw that coming (I didn't show him the video case), and it confused him to say the least. "What the eff is this?!"

I also like the fact that Cheech Marin plays three diferent parts too... The border patrol guard, the doorman at the bar ("You know what everybody says about me, eh?!... I SUCK!") and the gangster bloke at the end that Seth meets up with after his night of hell.

Cool movie.  8)

i i watched this on tv aswell the other night. Nice to see taratino in front of the camera, and george cloney was excellent also, however the vampires were stupid and ruined the film i thought.

I hate to bring back a dead topic, but I don't care. This movie has quickly became a fave of mine. All the different characters are so cool, even Tarantino! This is the only movie I've ever seen where George Clooney is a certified badass. I love how the movie does a complete 1-80 halfway through. Never ceases to amaze me.

I'd definitely recommend it!  8)

I thought the vampires were a excellent twist to the whole film.  I also saw part 2 and 3.  They weren't as good though.  I thought part 2 totally sucked, it was about bank robbers becomming vampires and 3 was ok, it's a prequel to the original.

There were other great quotes from that movie as well like

Seth: [talking to Jacob Fuller about his wife's death in a car crash] Died instantly?
Jacob: Not quite. She was trapped in the wreck for about six hours before she passed on.
Seth: Whewww! Those acts of God really stick it in and break it off, don't they?

Santanico Pandemonium: I'm not gonna drain you completely. You're gonna turn for me. You'll be my slave. You'll live for me. You'll eat bugs because I order it. Why? Because I don't think you're worthy of human blood. You'll feed on the blood of stray dogs. You'll be my foot stool. And at my command, you'll lick the dog shit from my boot heel. Since you'll be my dog, your new name will be "Spot". Welcome to slavery.
Seth: No, thanks. I've already had a wife.

I didn't care for this movie.  Tarantino trying to play cool just didn't cut it for me.  Also they should of left Clooney in E.R., and Cheech Marin in Nash Bridges.  I like Robert Rodriguez, but this has one of his lame movies along with Spy Kids.

Does anybody know, they apparently made a video game out of this movie?    :doubt:

It took place after the movie. Seth was sentenced to life in prison for the Titty Twister murders, and vampires invaded the prison or something stupid like that.

The thing about this movie, is that it has another cult following to it.  You know, like its not a classic, but yet it has an underground following to it.  Its like its simple but yet cool.  I remember when I first saw this, I didn't know it was a Robert Rodriguez film, and assumed it waslike another pulp fiction or something, since Quinten was in it.  I thought it was just about outlaws getting away, since the entire first hour only dealt with that.  Ounce Selma Hyack turned into a vampire, the shock that was on my face was incredible.  I was like "How do you go from criminal runaways to vampires", and being that I didn't know whatthe film was about, but the expierence much more better.
