Has anyone other than me ever heard of this movie? I thought I'd post about it here because it really has a lot to do with the subject matter The Warriors covers.
The year is 1976. The location: the South Bronx, NYPD 44th precinct, that being the most high crime area of the city of New York. A couple of filmmakers decided to follow around a group of police officers on their day to day routine, filming them during their interactions with the public. The results are, well, astonishing to be frank. This film is one of the most gritty representations of New York in the 70s I've ever seen, probably because it's all 100 percent real. I'd seriously recommend it to any fan of the Warriors who is interested in the setting, or conversely, any fan of COPS who wants to see where the whole concept started.
Now, here's the good news: it's available online! Feel free to watch it here if you're interested: http://www.veoh.com/browse/videos/categ ... 36jX83Rk3P
