I know that there is already a thread about this (sorta) but on that thread, it was unconfirmed, now it is offical:

I just met David Harris at Monstermania in Cherry Hill N.J on 8/25. this weekend. One of the coolest guys you will ever meet. We rapped for like a half hour and I told him that The Warriors was a movie that has no business being remade. David agreed and told me that Walter Hill has refused to allow the movie to be remade. While Paramount is the studio that released it, Hill still owns the rights to the movie. He also told me that they were planning on doing another reunion in NYC bigapppleconvention.com keep checking for more info. Thought everybody would want to know, so now that hack Tony Scott can't butcher a classic.

WOW  . I guess that's for the best. I still would have liked to see the remake.

Its good that they didn't decide to do a remake. The original would be better regardless but if their was a remake I would look forward to new gangs.

I wouldnt count your chickens just yet.  Over the past 3 years, Walter has been asked many times about the remake and has made no indication that he refuses to let it be made.  As far as I know, he's only said that he's not involved in any way.  If he didnt want the film to be made, why hasnt he spoke up earlier?  Money talks in this buisiness and if paramount think theres a profit to be made, then they will do it.  In the past 2 years, we have had 2 dvd releases, a game, book reprints and a line of action figures with a second on the way; so evidently, therse still plenty of milk left in the wariors cash cow.  Even if Walter puts a block on the Warriors remake, all paramount has to do is change a few names and the title and release a copy cat film.

I would wait until Walter Hill makes an official statement before jumping to any conclusion.

Thank jorb! I don't think the remake would've done any good at all. Because it has no relevance to the original, so yeah.

I think it will be made regardless of Hill, like the other guy said, money talks. I look forward to the remake! even though it will never, ever match up to the original.

So bro, if it's really OFFICIAL I'm very glad about!!!! Sometime a good new!!!
But those people changes idea every "second", well let's hope!!!

i ve just emailed for the big apple convention and i ve ask if there is any reuinon or anything else dealing with the warriors and see if i can get the low-down
