are there any plans to have any of the original characters in the remake?by this i mean a 45 year old ajax or swan etc etc etc.........they could be central to the story if they were......
also does any one know what the new story line is or is it the same?

No one knows exactly-No cast listings have been announced that anyone has found yet-there have been rumors that James Remar would appear as a cop-unrelated to Ajax- in the remake.
Depends on if it is a remake or a sequel---NO way characters that old could have any type of central role if it is a remake of the original-using most of the original script---there weren't any real adults in the story.
So if they do a sequel--(NOT what I have heard though) then they maybe could carry on the storylines with original characters--but that is NOT what the new director described in his interviews.
there are several threads that deal with this subject and lots of views--just scroll and look for them for new opinions.

Somebody in this forum posted that James Remar would have a cameo as a cop in the remake, but this information is one of those "I heard from a friend" deals.
We are currently awaiting confirmation one way or the other from possibly a different member who is Jame's nephew.

Well according the page by page script of the remake that JP is putting up---I don't think there will be an "ajax" character---they all have new names, faces and different members all together.

they should just change the name of the film...how about...The Fighters, to go with the lame name changes
