NO FURIES! What kind of crap is this. I officially am not going to see this piece of garbage that is being called a remake.

How can a NY gang now be from LA? Crips and Bloods  , why not just put P Diddy and G-Unit in the movie and completely destroy a classic.

I'm with you there snowball fury...this is not going to be The Warriors, if Tony Scott wants to change it all around he should change the title as well and leave our beloved movie alone!

Well, after about a week to calm myself down after reading that "interview" Tony Scott did, I'm not quite as angry as I was before. Almost but not quite. ;)

I pretty much expected that few, if any of the names of characters would remain the same, that much was a given. That's why I never bothered with any of those "What will The new Furies look like?" threads cause deep down I knew there weren't gonna be any Furies.

Given the direction that we have been told the film was going to take (set in the present day, not back in the 70's) I can live with the fact that real gangs (at least the names) will be used, like the Crips and Bloods. It lends something of a sense of legitimacy. Sure the outfits won't be as colorful as back in the day, but lets be realistic. Except for the Hells Angels, how many gangs openly flaunt jackets with thier name on it these days. I could almost even live with that.

I am also happy to hear that the whole "let's have a Matrix style martial arts climbing the walls and flipping over" style has apparently been abandoned. Lets face it.....in the year 2005 not many gangs use just plain skin any more.

But the one thing I just can not forgive is taking the movie out of New York and moving it to LA. If Mr. Scott feels that there is a shortage of gangs here to properly represent his movie, I would gladly offer to take him on a tour of Coney Island, East New York, Bed Sty, Bushwick, The South Bronx, Washington Heights, or any other of a hundred places where he can meet all the real life, legit gang bangers he wants.

"Instead of just 20 or 30 strong, the gangs will be 3,000 - 5,000 strong"  Oh yeah, that makes sense. So we're gonna have rumbles with 6,000 - 10,000 people in them. That will work great for character developement. This should be the biggest cast since Ben Hur.

PLEASE Mr. Scott.......come to your senses [-o< [-o< [-o<

You can change the characters, dialogue, costumes, whatever. But at least keep the spirit of the original alive. The Warriors has been and always will be a movie not only about gangs, but New York itself. And if you insist on this rediculous vision of all these gang members on a bridge at the start of the film instead of Coney Island like it should be, we do have some marvelous bridges here in NY too. ;)

Alright, I've said my piece. Tantive........take over.

When I get some time, I am slowly phasing the remake out of bits of the site since it isn't a remake. I'll rename it to something else.

You know what'd be the best thing ever? If he's doing something like Doom, where they gave false infomation about the movie on purpose, only to surprise us later on.

What IF the Furies are actually gonna be in, but he's keeping it a secret?

Thank you Marlboro!!!
Is this mic on?? OK...
Hollywood is a marketing machine selling anything it can get it hands on,
"Remakes"
And My rebuttal, about the remake, only boils my blood, because ...
Wow..Where to even begin with this??
First off,
Moving it to LA,is only because Tony Scott can avoid The NYC FILM Tax,that placed on all Films shot in New York..and it upset me,because That takes money out of union people and actors pockets!!
And in the Book,They mention Coney Island, where are you going to possibly recreate that?? in LA??huh?? Six Flags??
It seems to me the closes Tony Scott has come to going to New York,is watching the original Warriors Movie and saying to himself,
"Oh My?,I couldn't film it there, they could steal my camera?"
"Oh Domino Harvey,protect me?,Wait a sec??,She commited suicide"
She probably commited suicide,at the thought of a Warriors remake"
Sorry if I ruined the ending Tony,it's likely,no one will see it!!!
But now you know how I feel about your remake
And you know they will put every single rapper, athlete, and b-list celebrity in this,so they can sell us this movie!! Pathetic attempt
"Oh Yeah,Kobe? you Hardcore baby" ;)
" Justin T Yo? I don't want beef with you"
" Go on Usher..Let it Burn "
" Go on Fat Joe..show me your Scary "hint"acting ability's"
"And could someone tell Paul Walker,to parking James Remar's car" :p
"Paris..Yeah!!! now I am completely scared of this"
And the only gang this crew will run from is the paperazzi's
The Baywatch gang will laugh at them,
"OOh no,don't shoot Cyrus!!!,he has to fix his hair? and promote his clothing line,"
I need to relax a bit so I can continue this!!!!!

Continuing..
The only smart thing,is that he is casting unknowns..
But with the diagram of the entire story changing,
MarlboroProjects

Alright, I've said my piece. Tantive........take over.
Exactly, this is a New York Movie,it's like taking William Wallace and putting him in The Buffalo Frontiers of Dances with Wolves?
And What can you possibly subsitute for The Subway out there?? trollies??
Yeah,You look real bad swinging off of the HandleBars!!
And what about the Boardwalk?? Where will you go to Haight Ashbury or shoot it of Venice??
"Wow Look at that gang?,wait a sec their Hippies," and look their giving out flowers to people?
As for bridges,Man..How many we got,and They at least have a better views!! While I doubt anyone at paramount is reading this,I say this much,I'll make a bet Domino Tanks There is still much more to say,But I'll save it for the DVD review!!

Alright, I've said my piece. Marlboro........who want's the mic??,
who get next?

" Go on Fat Joe..show me your Scary "hint"acting ability's"
Actually, Joey Crack ain't that bad. Did you see him in Empire? They could (and most likely will) cast singers/rappers that are a lot worse.

The list is small, but some that ain't half bad:

Fat Joe
DMX
Tyreese
LL Cool J
Snoop
Ice T
Ice Cube
Dr Dre
Marky Mark
Will Smith
Queen Latifah

Now most of these are far out of Tony Scott's price range, or just wouldn't fit in (If you're gonna cast a 50 year old rapper, you might as well give James Remar a call)

Maybe Tony Scott is trying to become the first director in history by remaking a film before it even comes out. This crap sounds like the second coming of Domino Harvey more than the Warriors

Well, first and foremost:

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

secondly, Hollywood goes through it's fazes. Remember in the 80's every movie was either a teen slasher flick or a teen "losin' it" type of flick.

Now the current faze is remakes. And once King Kong comes out and breaks all kinds of records, the floodgates will really open up cause then the Hollywood suits will have all the proof they need that remakes can make big money.
