Will have to think as not too many stand out.

Teaxs chainsaw remake was one of the best though.

Yeah TCM was a good remake, one where they didnt totally bugger it up.
Dawn of the Dead remake kinda sucked...as the zombies could run. :-s
The original of DotD was great, orange blood & blue zombies!

I can tell you what the WORST remake is...and that would have to be Planet of the Apes. What a useless piece of crap that was. That movie robbed me out of $8 and 2 hours out of my life. :x

The ONLY good remake ever made is the new Scarface. The one and only case where the great first film has an equally good remake

All other remakes have various degrees of crappyness. One of the worst, dumbest, crappiest, worthless pukeremakes ever pissed out is last year's piece of earwax "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003"

i couldnt agree more. its like that with the Italian Job. i felt the remake missed the point.it is forever a english car and a english film. its like setting the warriors in London. not quite the same.

Can't agree with your TCM comments as i thought it was pretty good. :?

Now for one of my secret shames! I think The Jazz singer with Neal Diamond is about as good a remake as you could get

i love remakes, if done good.... the fly and the blob were too of my favorite remakes... and even though i know that scarface was technically a remake... i do like to think of it as a standalone movie because it is one of those moies that cant be touched

No way man! I LOVED the Italian Job...although that might just be because Seth Green and Donald Sutherland were in it, and they were both connected to Buffy, in a way. I remember seeing Taxi recently, which everyone thought was a pile of crap, and I thought the car chase sequences were good, like the Italian Job.

Then again, I am a crazy 13-year-old, so my judgement isn't always the best!

I'm not really a fan of remakes in general, most of the remakes I see don't really work out because they clean them up too much and they lose the unique quality that made the original great in the first place.

ya i think all remakes are good just not from are point of view. remakes are made for kids. the new generation. were old for the acception of me bobo and punk rock but were the kids of today who appreciate what created it. i love led zeppelin and pink floyd, and its old. alot of my friends think the warriros is corney just because it dosent have new jokes and stuff. i think alot of people love remakes just not us cause its not what were use too and we hate to see are favorite old movies turned into new stuff for kids too enjoy and talk about when they grow old.

Something like the Warriors though when you redo it to fit the times now it completely changes the movie. They might as well just do the new movie but not call it the Warriors. Certain movies go with certain times. You can't do a remake of Casablanca in modern times and expect it to work like the original because they are stories that reflect the times they are made in. Redoing movies to reflect modern times changes the story so it isn't really the same, and kids from today usually don't relate to older stories.
