Wow..less than a year to go and not even rumors of possible actors. This must be a very hush-hush production.

I don't know gonzo. I really don't think they even have a finished script yet.
I can't imagine why this would be kept secret. You would think they would want the buzz.

Even hugely anticipated movies like Star Wars, Batman, & War of The Worlds had plenty of info including the script leaked while the movie was still filming.

If we can figure out about how many weeks it would take to shoot this movie, plus how long we figure it would be in post, that might give some clue as when filming is going to start.

When they finally have a cast, we should be able to learn some clues on just how faithfull this remake will be, as far as character names & such.

Has anyone seen anything at all about the Warriors's remake yet? Usually movie companies put out some small things about who the actors are or some pubicity shots to get the buzz started but I have not seen one hint that this movie even exists in the media. Anybody in New York see them shooting or anything?

Like we said above -

Still no script
Still no cast

I've been hearing about this movie being made since 1997 (The Daily News did a special in January about upcoming movies and in one part they were talking about remakes & a remake of the Warriors was said to be "in the works)

I hope they didn't put it on the shelf

Well at least they are posting it up somewhere!!
But I cliked on "related article", and it was dated August of 2004.
So if that is where they are basing their information from it is old news.
And I didn't see anything new that was added to the heading.

But thank you for looking and keeping us all posted on what's up!!

They've got a script, or at least a script-writer - Terence Winter, but no cast, and the director Tony Scott is currently in pre-production on another film called Emma's War, so he'll probably start shooting The Warriors remake after that's wrapped and released which could be well into next year. But I'm not that bothered, out of all the new Warriors things coming out, the remake is the thing I'm looking forward to the least.

One of the many things that's worrying me is the fact that Terence Winter has just written 50 Cent's upcoming acting debut Get Rich Or Die Tryin'. For all I know it could be great (yeah right), but that's not the point, the point is if that movie makes alot of money and it almost certainly will, then there's a good chance they'll put 50 Cent in The Warriors remake. And if that happens, I reckon we should all prepare ourselves for the worst. :(

to tell the truth, i just hope they decide to bag the whole idea of a remake. just put it aside and forget about it. let them make their movies with 50 senseless...

Either way, the remake won't hit our screens for a long while yet, and I think we should be glad about that, especially as it's being co-produced by MTV.
