I think they should keep the Furies, maybe make 'em a differant sport, but keep the same feel, I like the hockey idea. Have them with hockey sticks and paint goalie masks on their faces., or even wear goalie masks, then have awesome erseys. But I think the rollerblades might make too many people think of the punks leader...

Then call them something else like the Zambonis , or something else like that...

Or ideally, just call the movie something else, and say it is it's own movie, not trying to pass it off as a modern retelling, because if a movie is so good it deserves a retelling, the original setting would work.
